What a fun place. Delicious BBQ served family style. Drop dead hot salsa and the best free mescal in town. If you are lucky, the owner will serenade your table with some quality singing. I love this place and go every year. The place near Pochutla is the most fun and the one that was at La Bocana was really... More

We had the mixed plate usually served for four people, but they did customize for two people. The beef and quail was good. Only one large pork rib given with the reduced order, but it was good. The rest of the meat was unmemorable. We had to order the bean soup that usually comes with the order for 4, but... More

We have been eating here for years and every year they improve on something. This year they upgraded their ladies washroom. Everything is good but my favs are the bean soup and the Arrachera !!!

We were looking for something with a local flair and this place was recommended by someone at the hotel. They didn't steer us wrong. It isn't ranked as high as it should be in my opinion and I suspect it's because it's a little out of the way. It's best to take a cab and walk back if you like.... More

Amazing carne asada, frankly better than what I've had in many restaurants in northern Mexico. We ordered a parrillada, and the meat, chicken and sausage were delicious. We also had queso fundido, which was quite good. Great atmosphere and service, to boot. A word of warning: the salsas of El Vaquero (Jaime, the owner) are delicious but insanely spicy, so... More

Once again...Jaime, the ownwer, and his wonderful staff made me feel at home and always will greet you with a smile. The mezcal flows freely and the arracherra is consistently flavorful! Try thier guacomole. Bon Apetit!

Great true Mexican experience here.......................the grilled meat platter is just what the steak eaters in our group were looking for ! The bean soup was amazing! The owners come and sing at your table and they could really sing too! The Mezcal was a little rough............... Enjoyed eating with the locals and watching a children's birthday party complete with Pinatas....so... More

A place for meat eaters. They have the best Arrachera in the State of Oaxaca for sure. Delicious salsas but super spicy. Their mango dessert taste home-made but delicious. And to top the experience, have a mezcal or two....if you are not the designated driver.

The food and drinks were great. We had a meat platter, with tortillas and a melted cheese pot. WOW! And the entertainment was great. Two brothers sang and they were actually surprisingly talented! Only for carnivores!
