This place is owned and operated personally by a Canadian lady that is as much as a local as anyone in Huatulco... The food is a spectacular mix of traditional Oaxacan food with an international quality and service standard, without ever losing the local flavor. Their soups are excellent, great cocktails done with local Mezcal (in Oaxaca drink Mezcal, not... More

Our first night back in Huatulco we went to eat at Cafe Juanita, at her new location at the Chahue Marina. And as always, it was wonderful! Being able to sit outside over looking the Marina is wonderful. Jane always starts you off with a small complimentary appetizer, and they are wonderful. Can't go wrong eating here!

Enjoyed a great meal of seafood. Others in the group enjoyed pork and chicken. Dined on the patio with great view of the marina.

We tried as many restaurants as we could in our 10 day vacation in Huatulco and this restaurant was one of our top 3 choices. Juanita (really Jane, who used to live in Montreal, Canada but has been living in Mexico for the last 20 years) served this green dipping sauce with bread while we waited for our food and... More

'Not sure what the folks of the earlier review were eating, but we were a party of 6 hungry adults, mostly ordering appetizers (my salad with beets, spinach, cheese was a real winner), mains, and a few desserts, limonadas (and a beer) and our bill was actually less than $100 CDN, so maybe some expensive bottles of wine were on... The food was great no complaints but our bill for almost $100 cdn for 3 of us eating pasta I observed local( mexican's) come in look at the menu and leave. I doubt very many if any locals eat here. The prices are what we would be paying in canada and would have a much nicer ambience. We actually had... More

Thanks for your review and visit. We only have one pasta dish that was served as a special this week. It is a spaghetti with rosemary shrimp (5 large shrimp) and the price is the equivalent of 12.50$ Canadian. Our wine by the 6 ounce glass is the equivalent of 4.75$ Canadian. Our beer is 2$. These prices have no... More

Located in the peaceful, scenic and very uncrowded Marina, Cafe Juanita is a hidden gem! Our first visits were for lunch, I had the Shalom baguette (smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, onions), I ended up taking half back to our condo and my husband did the same with his Thai chicken baguette (chicken breast, cabbage, carrots, peppers in a peanut... Not sure what the hype is. The food was good. The chilaquiles were colorful & beautifully plated - well done cooks! But the energy and service from - I'm guessing the owner - was underwhelming. The other staff were pleasant but it felt like she couldn't be bothered with the concept of service. No thanks - we'll return to many... More
