Old Favorite Does Not Disappoint

We have been customers of thie establishment for many years. Whenever we dine here we order the whole red snapper, which is always too large but done perfectly. The appetizers are a meal in themselves and are worth the visit by themselves.

Have dined there 3 times son far this season and all 3 meals were excellent. The whole red snapper is way too large and the chili rellanos are always perfect. My only regret is the wonderful coconut ice cream is no longer available. Gustavo and Ruffino are to be commended for their operation of an old favorite.

The food was good, but the wait staff had us from the word "margarita". We stopped in there nearly every day to say hi, have a drink, and shoot the breeze - such wonderful people!! I know I gained a few pounds and made some new friends there!

We stopped into La Tortuga this evening like we have so many times in the past. They greet you like no other place in this city. We all loved our meals my daughter had the chicken burritos which she loved and my wife and I do what we always do split the huge portion of the tortuga salad which is... More

This is a small place but always has great fresh food and service. They have wonderful Avocado and tomato salad, great for a light dinner or lunch in the warm temperatures. We have sampled several of their fish entrees and always feel we get good value for our pesos! Plus they treat you like family!

We came to La Tortuga as our last dinner of a weeklong stay. I wouldn't be exaggerating at all if I said it was our best meal of the vacation. As vegetarians, it has been occasionally difficult to find appropriate options, and sometimes our questions get a bit lost in translation since vegetarians aren't all that common here. Gustavo greeted... More

Probably the worst meal I've ever had in my 32 years of visiting Mexico...however his margarita's were very good and some of the best guacamole I've had....that's where the good part ends. He had to run down the street to get ice. Then he had to run down the street to get shrimp. I ordered the "specialty" of the house... More

We just had dinner at this place and the place was awesome food was plentiful and well prepared and they were freindly and talkative. It is down a poorly lit street, but, once you walk the short block you will be happy with the choice.

We always look forward to dining at La Tortuga the only category you can knock is the atmosphere and people like Gustavo and Ruffino give it that extra point. I seem to consistently get the same dish there the la totuga salad large plate of Acacado and tomato in a light italian like dressing which we love. Also the combination... More
