Worth the stop for a bite and a drink

Came here after a recommendation from a colleague. It wasn't too close to my hotel, but then again I chose to stay by the airport which is about 30 minutes away. Attention was good and quick. Many plates to choose from, but roasted baby goat is what you want to order here. Food was fresh and served... read more

I read the reviews before going, and totally expected the tacky decor... Thanks for the heads up LOL! El Rey del Cabrito is very easy to spot on avenida Constitucion. The food was really good. I visited with family and we ordered 2 plates of machitos as appetizers, along with guacamole. The machitos were good, but arrived to our table... More

What a place! The main restaurant nearby the barrio antiguo is an Amazing place, the decoration is so kitsch, is an organized mess, there are stuff and histories in every single corner, hundreds of pictures from politics, show biz-personalities, goats and lions dissected fighting in the background of the restaurant. Well I need to make a confession the place is... More

I had to try the cabrito and I was recommended to go to the restaurant, the place looks interesting but worn out and so were the dishes, glasses and menus. The cabrito was good but a once only kind of meal.

I wrote that title because when I got in and look at the decoration, the Buca di Bepo's image came up to my mind. Many people told me they don't enjoy while eating cabrito but if you are willing to taste traditional food wherever you travel (like cabrito in Monterrey), you will certain is not as terrible as everybody say.

The place is good, with nice ambient, the decoration is kind of kitsch but not exaggerated. It has several TV screens and ambient music. The staff is friendly and willing to help you with information about the dishes. This is a typical and focused restaurant that serves "cabrito" (baby goat) but it has other dishes also for the ones that... More

It is a very charismatic place decorated in a unique way. Starting at the entrance you can feel that this place is not for formalities but to have a good time with family, friends or business partners. The food choices are putting starring the Mexican goatling. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. If you go to Monterrey you should... More

We live in Mexico and the meat was terrible. We ordered Kabob Skewers which tasted really fatty I only ate 50% of it. My wife ordered half arrachera and goat Platter. Keep in mind my wife is Mexican and she said it was the worst arrachera she ever ate. The goat meat was rally like 2 fork full at the... More

Cabrito is one of the favorite dished for my family. We normally let our family members treat us to home made cabrito from one of their farms but this restaurant does it well. It is very famous in Monterrey as a good place to eat cabrito and they didn't disappoint. My father loved it and he is a picky eater.... More

We had dinner on a Saturday night, the place is big but it was empty at 8:00 pm, the place is elegant but the food was just average, the customer service was dry and just order takers, you have to ask to get even the menus, tortillas were not fresh and overall not very impressed, seems that people already found...
