Once you're in Monterrey you cannot miss "el Rey del Cabrito" however I have to say that the meat (and bones!) are about average. Service was good and fast considering it was crowded (as always is I guess). The ambient is quite peculiar of North Mexican style, and it worth seeing it, however one next trip I will try a... More

Once I was given a clean bill of health from the hospital Christus Muguerza hospital, possible the best hospital and staff I have ever been to, I felt I could not leave Monterrey with trying the famous cabrito. While the service was excellent, the cabrito fell very short of my expectations. We had asked the waiter to recommend the best... More

If you happen to be in town, this place is a must in the same way as Joe's Stonecrab in Miami or Carnegie Deli in NY are. I must admit that the taste is not for everyone but is worth trying... To say that the place is quaint is a real understatement! The decor is a combination Liberace meets Northern... More

'Cabrito' is 'roast baby goat' which is a specialty of Monterrey. In Monterrey, there is not better restaurant than El Rey del Cabrito for Cabrito. The food was delicious, quick, and served well. I was quickly seated and waited upon. Staff was well trained and many spoke English. I'd really almost say the Cabrito here is worth a flight to... More

Not only is the food delicious but it is a must go when visiting Monterrey. I prefer visiting the location close to downtown as it's only a step away from a lot of shopping. The waiters are awesome and so is the rest of the stuff. It is pretty cool how you can see your food being made. Yum Yum... More

I've been to this restaurants several times, but I haven't been in years. Cabrito is a popular item in Monterrey, although I'm not that big of a fan. The food here isn't all that great. From what I remember, they give you big pieces of meat on the bone. I would prefer if they cut it for you and gave... More

If you are in Monterrey and wish to have (or taste if first time) cabrito, which can be translated as kid goat, NEVER go to Rey del Cabrito. It caters to foreigners who are attracred to the name and don't know any better through NO fault of their own. It is the worst place for cabrito. As usual when you... More

This is the most traditional place to go of you visit Monterrey. The saying is: If you visit Monterrey, and you didn't eat at El Rey del Cabrito, you didn't visit Monterrey. The specialty here is baby goat. They also serve beef, but leave that aside. Eat under the stare of the pictures the owner has of himself with the... More
