If you are in Monterrey and wish to have (or taste if first time) cabrito, which can be translated as kid goat, NEVER go to Rey del Cabrito. It caters to foreigners who are attracred to the name and don't know any better through NO fault of their own. It is the worst place for cabrito. As usual when you... More

This is the most traditional place to go of you visit Monterrey. The saying is: If you visit Monterrey, and you didn't eat at El Rey del Cabrito, you didn't visit Monterrey. The specialty here is baby goat. They also serve beef, but leave that aside. Eat under the stare of the pictures the owner has of himself with the... More

You have to go to El Rey del Cabrito if you ever find yourself in Monterrey (which you should avoid at all costs, since it's the ugliest, most unfriendly, and one of the most unfortunate places in the world). But let's imagine you are in Monterrey. You're sad, have been coughing from the smog, you're in your hotel room, terrified... More

This is one of the best and traditional places to eat Cabrito in Monterrey. Cabrito (Goat) is a Monterrey specialty and very good. The leg is very good but I like to pick through the shoulder. Apetizers are all good - try several. I like the chorizo with cheese.

I came here on business, and local co-workers recommended this place. Like most Mexicans, we arrived at the restaurant around 2PM on a work day and the restaurant was busy. We ordered several things to share, and it was very typical and tasty. Desserts looked awesome too. Service was correct, and it felt like that restaurant was there for ages.... More

There are a few locations in the city. The original is in the Barrio Antiguo, which unfortunately fell on bad times due to the recent violence. But the Rey still stands! It's kitch beyond kitch, a true tacky palace to roasted goat. Cabrito is the regional speciality, and here it's done well. There is a good crowd, and good food.... More
