the waiters' task must be to increase the turn over of clients given the unpleasant and impatient service, typical of a restaurant focused on tourists. the meat was great. their frijole was the best i had this far in mexico. with such good meat it is a pity that they do not serve any mexican wine (or any wine at... We did a large group lunch in Monterrey. Started out with outstanding appetizers (I think the appetizers were even better than the mains). Everything we ordered was fantastic. The mains (no goat and I realize that was probably a mistake) were outstanding as well. The quality of the beef is outstanding and prepared perfectly. Super experience and highly recommended.

This restaurant has been there for a long time. Their specialty is "cabrito", or baby-goat. Monterrey and the whole region is the capital of "cabrito" in Mexico and Gran Pastor is the flagship. I haven't tried their beef, but friends in my party said it was good. My goat was outstanding. Salad bar is included in the price. Food -... More

There is only so much stake you can eat at Monterrey. El Gran Pastor is like every other stake house you've been. Good food, but nothing special. Decoration is outdated, and staff was barely good. Better try some place else.

Have eaten at this restaurant for a coup,e of decades. It has had its ups and downs over the years, and right now it is on an up. Service is very good and the cabrito (goats no older than a year) are juicy and tender. Highly recommended.

If you're in Monterrey you have t try the Cabrito. It's famous for the region and something you won't find most other places. El Gran Pastor is THE place to go!

As the title implies, it is something that you have to try. I have always gone out of my way to try the food that a city or region is known for. Cabrito is that good here. Would I get it again? No, I would get the steak instead but I had to try it. The restaurant, atmosphere, and staff... More

I've been there every time I visit the city, service, food and atmosphere are just amazing. Without a doubt one of the best places to eat in town. Order "queso flameado" with some "guacamole" to start, then if you feel like it try "riñonada", best match ever.
