We took our friend there for dinner and although the menu was not extensive, we were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic dishes they prepared. The smoked marlin and shrimp wrap was simply amazing! The coconut encrusted White Sea bass was out of this world! And the variety of condiments available complemented the meal just right. I wholeheartedly recommend El Picazon... More

What a huge disappointment to make the drive and have the place be closed during posted open times (i.e. Th 3 pm). Obviously a hit or miss - don't go unless your prepared to make the drive for nothing. Fortunately we found El Papagayo in town and had a delicious dinner so the day was saved.

First of all, it is kind of challenging to get to this restaurant. And I wish to say, "but it was so worth it". If I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have gone out of my way and risked rental car to break down or get stuck in sand or gravel. But, if I didn't take that risk,... More

This place was the absolute highlight of our trip to Loreto! Just drive north on Davis until you get there, about 25 minutes down a dirt road with sporadic signage. A bit difficult to get to, but definitely worth it. Everything was perfect - the setting, the view, the drinks, the appetizer, the dinners, the desserts, the service... could not... More

Part of the intrigue and reward is navigating the road to La Picazon. Note that they aren't open in the evening...We went about noon and had the best margaritas we had anywhere in Loreto. Amazing fish tacos and other fish dishes too. THe host is fabulous and it is such a nice place just to hang out for a while.... More

My friends and I have traveled to Loreto every year for 25 years. We spend a week in this beautiful town. Although we visit to fish, golf and rest, we very much enjoy our evenings out, being together, to eat and drink. La Picazon is hands down, our favorite restaurant. This place is definately off the beaten path, but it's... More

Beautiful location, delicious food, wonderful food presentation and detail oriented service were the key reasons my husband and I said "I do" at La Picazon. Being from a big city, Los Angeles we had plenty of choices for a wedding location, but La Picazon was our choice. Between both my husband and I we've been to many weddings and none... More

My friend and I made our way out to this remote restaurant, at times skeptical that it existed due to the rugged road. We arrived to find a type of luxury that is best characterized as informal and stylish. The food was carefully prepared with both delicate and bold flavors. It made us very happy to have made it here.... More

You drive across open range on a dirt road - in the middle of no where. Very small wooden signs lead you to La Picazon. All alone on the sea of cortez. Kayaks sit on the beach for your use. Plan to stay awhile. Alajandro and his wife welcome you with open arms. Open dining and kitchen with unbelieveable views.

My husband and I saved La Picazon for the last day of our trip and were so disappointed to find it closed on Sundays. We had heard great things and were excited about it. Neither the hotel staff or taxi driver knew it was closed so I wanted to let everyone know before the 20 min cab drive. It's open... More
