Juan Carlos does it AGAIN!

We brought in our local catch of Cabrilla (leopard grouper) and the chef whipped up an amazing combination of sauces and preparations. We paired the main course with an Italian Pinot Gris which was to-die-for. What an evening.

I feel so compelled to write this review. I have been going to Loreto to vacation for about 10 years now. Mita Gourmet is without a doubt the most wonderful restaurant in Loreto. The owners are so gracious and kind. They are truly beautiful people. The owner is also the chef and takes pride in his customers enjoying their experience... More

I've eaten here a few times over the years of my Loreto visits, and have to say, it is one of Loreto's finest dining establishments. The people who run it are so lovely and helpful..and most speak English, used to catering to tourists, I suppose. The fresh fish of the day is always delicious no matter how you have it... More

Several suppers proved not only delicious with excelent, friendly, personal service. The Flank Steak was done perfectly, juicy, full of flavour. Same for Chicken Cordon Bleue. Salad, accompaniments were top notch. Chef Juan Carlos came by personaly to take our otder, then followd up later for our comments. My only lunch time visit was less exciting. The service, as well... Mita Gourmet is located in the Historic Zocolo which definitely is the place to be for dinner in Loreto. Most of the seating is outdoors which is fabulous. We had 3 very enjoyable evenings here indulging on the fantastic seafood. A truly great experience!

This was an excellent restaurant. The owner and chef takes pride in his food. The atmosphere was great and the service was fast and friendly. The food was catered to exactly how we wanted it, we will go back next time we are in Loreto.

We stopped here for lunch while sight seeing and what a delight it was. The waiter was very cordial and pleasant. The pasta dish I ordered was very good and a very large order. They serve very good coffee in a press with real cream and sugar. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing and pleasant. Prices were good for... More

Enjoyed a great luncheon in the historical square in the small Baja town of Loreto at Mita Gourmet Restaurant. I was happy to get my fix of Tortilla soup which in this case was tomato based but creamy. I opted out of having pollo (chicken) added and went with just the basic sopa which was delicious. My partner had the... More

We weren't terribly impressed with this restaurant. We found the food to be marginal, not great, but not terrible either... Certainly not "gourmet" by any stretch of the definition. To be honest, it was a bit pricy for Mexico, but compared with the US, some less discriminating gringos might consider it a bargain. Admittedly, when it comes to food, we... More
