We only had dessert here - this restaurant was not as busy as the neighboring ones - but dessert, wine, and the service were all very good. The interior was beautifully decorated.

On Palm Sunday 4 of us went to 1697.Thge Bruchetta appetizer took one hour to serve. Slices of tomatoe with a tiny square piece of jack cheese that looked like it came from a package. After one and a half hours we were served. The sea food combo had 2 little shrimp and was small enough to be an appetizer. As soon as...

Located in the NE corner of the plaza, this restaurant has great seafood with an Italo-Mexican flair and both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve Baja Microbrews (though the selection the night we were there was limited to the India Pale and the red). The prices were reasonable. The clam appetizer was very good. My husband had the seafood penne...

The food is pretty good and decent service? They are accommodating. Closed on Monday's. Deserts are not worth trying.
servers all speak very good English, food is excellent, not your "standard" mexican fare. very good desserts !,
Cosy nicely decorated Mexican restaurant where the owners are always present and make you feel like on of the family. We have gone to this restaurant many times and the food quality is fantastic.
Good selection of Mexican and north american food options. Fish is always fresh and they have the best pizza in Loreto. Great Margaritas and cold craft...

When you wait 45 minutes for your order to arrive it gets things off to a rough start. The service was very poor and they were obviously understaffed. The beer was ok. The Margaritas were average. The food server spoke poor English and had a hard time communicating (I know...it IS Mexico after all so I cannot hold that against...

My husband and I love great draft beer and 1697 sure delivered! We first had the sampler of the Cabo micro-brews and the red ale was our favorite (but they were all good, we liked the IPA a lot as well!). The food was good too but we only had a salad and dessert (canela crepes!).
Cozy ambiance and delicious food. We enjoyed salads, pizza and margaritas-- ample choices for vegetarians.
There was 9 of us that ate there and was a great meal and great service despite the heat and humidity. Three of us ordered the 1697 Chili Rellenos and it was probably the best I have ever had. However everyone loved their meal. We plan to go back before we leave town.
