Interesting place, we had superb service. The food was good. Loved the empanadas Ale, not greasy, the filling was delectable. The steaks were amazing size, could have been spiced more. Spilled a glass of wine on mine, it was put back on the grill, came back and was transformed into a top five. Be warned pretty warm on the terrace.... More

We went here on the advice of our hotel. It was good yet not great. We also had a wierd taxi switch up that we were not convinced was not set up by the establishment. Service was goo. just a little slow.

We visited for the first time with two families. Food was excellent. Service was decent considering were are in la paz. We ordered an assortment of empanadas which were very good and the Brasero which is for 5 but it fed 3 boys, 2 girls and 5 adults with leftovers. Price for the Brasero is $2200 pesos. Prices are high... More

Ambiance and decor were average. Steaks were inconsistent, mine was acceptable, 2 of my companion's were not. Too tough and sinewy. The empanadas were good not amazing, and not bad, just good. Service was slow and inattentive. There are better places to eat in La Paz

We celebrated out return to La Paz with dinner at Estancia last night and could not be happier! As suggested by other reviewers, we began with the empanadas. You select the filling you would like from a long list of combinations. We selected the Caprese filling: mozzarella cheese with fresh tomatoes and basil. Oh my... topped with the chimichurri and... Okay, I know that that definition of 'done-ness' varies from place to place, but this was ridiculous. We shared a Beef Short Rib, and requested it done 'medium', but it came out the first time seared on four sides (It was at least a kilogram of nice-looking beef, shaped like a spaghetti box) but raw and cool deeper than the... We made a reservation & arrived to a perfect little table. We wanted to bring a bottle of wine but was told the cork fee was $150 pesos, so we had the house merlot & it was nice. We ordered empanadas and it took a long time for the food to come but we were told it's because everything is... More

We had a fantastic time at Estancia Uruguaya. The steaks are amazing, they are so big it was very hard to finish them. The meat was of great quality and the Margaritas were some of the best we had in La Paz. A secret are the freshly made Empanadas which you can also order via telephone to take out. We'd... More

I travel to La Paz several times a year and was told that I must try Estancia Uruguaya. I had a friend of mine - his first time in Pa Paz- so i thought this would be a great introduction to the local cuisine. We were met at the door with the biggest smiles from everyone and immediately taken to... More
