Great Local Food

Homemade delicious food! Good prices, great location on the Malecon. Chorizo tacos are a must, really great!

The food's great and "real." No ridiculous pandering to the Tex-Mex crowd. They specialize in grilled meats, with all the trimmings. Open 24 hours a day, the space looks as if the owners bought one property, then another, then another as they expanded. No frills: just really good food at a super reasonable price. We had great service, even when... More

While Rancho Viejo may not be glamorous in appearance, it makes some of the most incredibly authentic and flavorful Mexican food you can find anywhere! Go for the Molcajecte de Arrachera, a truly delectable mix of marinated beef, nopal cactus, and cheese melded in a heavenly sauce served in a piping hot stone bowl. One of the most memorable dishes... More

My sister and I visited La Paz in early March. While walking back to our hotel, we came upon a restaurant grilling meat outdoors (Rancho Viejo). A nice American gentlemen recommended the Arranchera steak, and we decided to try it. The dish we ordered is precisely as pictured in another traveler's review. When we received our order of Molcajete Arranchera,... More

This restaurant is always open, which is perfect during holidays. The beef is cooked outside and the smell of it will draw you in. Service is quick and friendly, the portions are good and the condiments that are served with the tacos are fresh, plentiful and of equally good taste.

El Rancho Viejo is a block south of the Malecon on De Leon. Worth the walk! I enjoy the arrechea tacos. The condiments served make every tacos a different taste treat

One of the best taco's for our trip, we ordered the 4 person steak tacos. Very, very good- we liked the special peppers with the order!

It was ok, I've had way better tacos all over La Paz though. Not sure why this place got such a good review.

We went for dinner on a Friday night and although we were there at 7:30pm, locals weren't there yet. Didn't matter...they were friendly and helpful. We all tried the molcajete (chicken, arrachera)...excellent!! Guacamole/margaritas were good too! Fun watching the cooking on the sidewalk!

It is not the first time I go but I won't be going there in a rush at all. It's very generic, they always have the same things and well, the food is not that bad but the prices and the service are questionable and could be improved. The prices are way way too high, $25 for a single taco? And... More
