Go see Racardo and ask for a recommendation. He won't steer you wrong. Decent prices and they have a fun little courtyard.

You need to remember La Paz is not a resort community so most, if not all of the restaurants will be catering to the local population. So with that in mind, "bone up" on your spanish...There will not be an english version menu (like in the Los Cabos area), and the employees might not speak english. We visited La Fanda... More

This is a fabulous find for Local Mexican cuisine. Delightful and affordable. Three of us had dinner for 370 pesos. The menu is not extensive and they were out of chicken and shrimp when we were there. But we all had fresh fish and it was fantastic. I recommend the pescado Veracruz which is fish with tomatoes, onions and peppers.... More

I believe it is spelled "La Fonda"? Great place, casual and probably the best bargain for good local food in town! Highly recommended by locals and Gringos alike!

La Fonda, yes spelled FONDA not FANDA, is one of the gems of local La Paz cuisine. Located at the corner of Nicolas Bravo & Revolucion downtown, this large place has both indoor & outside patio seating. When we ordered our lunch, we had no idea of the portions, which were huge. The Combination plate (plato mixto) included a tostada,... More

We went into La Paz for a dinner on our last night before flying back to Canada. We actually started out looking for another restaurant, and having no luck finding it, drove around until we happened upon La Fonda. The atmosphere was very nice in all 3 of the different dining areas available. Our server was super friendly and attentive,... More

La Fonda de los Briseno is a charming and terrific restaurant with amazing authentic mexican food. It is clearly a choice of the locals, as most of the patrons are native to La Paz. I eat lunch here with my wife at least twice during every visit to La Paz. I love the mexican plate (chili relleno, cheese enchalada, quesadilla,bean... More

I believe the name is spelled wrong. It's La Fonda on Revolcion on an opposite corner to Il Rustico. The prices are good and the food was good. They didn't have an extensive menu. Everyone was friendly.
