Yummy!

We ate dinner here for 5 nights! The food is outstanding, fresh, and cooked to order. We enjoyed the outdoor seating too. The margaritas and salsa are delicious! We were lucky enough to meet the whole family and must say that eating there really felt like going to someone's home and having dinner.

Tasty meal, great service, good prices. Will definitely go back. Bonus points for being open on Monday nights when many other restaurants in town are closed!

Now here is a quiet family restaurant located in a quiet street just round the corner from the bustling centre of town. The restaurant is under a large spreading tree that gives plenty of shade from the sun. This means it is out doors and although there is no aircon. there are plenty of fans to keep you cool. There... went to La Fonda for lunch with a friend. A nice clean friendly place. A clean and laminated menu with the choices you would probably find in most full service restaurants. My choice was enchilada verde at a price of 55 pesos. Three enchiladas arrived shortly covered with green salsa and sour cream. Food was good but not terrific. As... More

I am SO thankful we stumbled across La Fonda on our recent trip to La Paz! In terms of culinary delights, this place saved our trip! We were only in town one week and dined here twice. The first time was on Valentine's day. then one night we ordered food to go but enjoyed the patio while we waited for... More

Starting with the ivy-covered garden, you know you're in for something special when you enter La Fonda. In business since 1999, everything is homemade to the highest standards. My girlfriend had a fish filet in cilantro cream sauce while I enjoyed chicken in mole Poblano. Both were excellent. This is not a tourist restaurant and clearly caters to locals in... More

Go see Racardo and ask for a recommendation. He won't steer you wrong. Decent prices and they have a fun little courtyard.

You need to remember La Paz is not a resort community so most, if not all of the restaurants will be catering to the local population. So with that in mind, "bone up" on your spanish...There will not be an english version menu (like in the Los Cabos area), and the employees might not speak english. We visited La Fanda... More

This is a fabulous find for Local Mexican cuisine. Delightful and affordable. Three of us had dinner for 370 pesos. The menu is not extensive and they were out of chicken and shrimp when we were there. But we all had fresh fish and it was fantastic. I recommend the pescado Veracruz which is fish with tomatoes, onions and peppers.... More
