Reliable, not fabulous

Fresh fish and seafood were delicious with a choice of sauces (some spicy, some less so), even the desserts were good. We shared a number of dishes and all were good.

This is a huge restaurant on the Malecon. We were told how great this restaurant was by a local. The menu is large. And it was pretty full of locals. The outdoor street seating is beautiful. Bring a book to help translate the menu. The service is leisurely. The shrimp Chile Rellenos were tasty with light batter, but the red... More

I was generous by giving 3 stars and considered giving just two. The food was okay, the service okay, and the view pretty good. The plain fish tacos were pretty good, but I the 75 peso lobster tacos tasted nothing like lobster to me. I doubt that I would go back if I returned to La Paz. I also thought... More

This restaurant is like the most famous to eat seafood, the owner should organise her staff, there are lots of waiters, but the staff is short in the kitchen and you can wait even 30 minutes to get your dishes. We wanted to book a table for 20 a day before and they asked for a deposit, which I believe... More

Located on the Malecon with a great view of the bay, we noticed El Bismarksito being frequented by many local families so we thought we'd take the chance and we're glad we did, Service, seafood, the vibe and the view were all outstanding and the prices we felt reasonable.

Nice location. Friendly staff. But......... 2 of our party of 4 ordered the scallops. They were tough round medallions that had a taste heavy of bread crumbs and butter. Some of the weirdest scallops we've ever had. Later found out that they were pieces of skate, punched out into a circle to resemble a large sea scallop. Unacceptable!

Dropped in to Bismarkcito when our original plan--Calypso--was closed (For Good?) Service was attentive, timely and with genuine hospitality--well above the norm for La Paz. Dishes we ordered were good, not fantastic. Overall experience was great! Prices are reasonable. We returned a couple nights later for dinner as well, even though not on the same end of malecon as our... More

I would describe this restaurant as good but not very good, but TA doesn't give me that option. I visited El Bismarksito in March 2015 with my family. The location on the Malecon looking out over the bay really couldn't be bettered and the service was exceptionally good. My son had shrimp, I had grilled marlin and my wife had... More

I went today, food was 3 out of 5. I ate at the bar, the barman was attentive and helpful. We ordered tacos which was the best of the evening. From there it all went south... Chocolatas Clams rellenas, tasted everything but clams. Jaibas rellenas were mmnah, not that tasty. And fish empanizado was just average. However the worst was... More
