Based on the various reviews and pictures I saw online, I decided to visit this restaurant located in a very nice, tastefully decorated hotel in Wendake. Its location is great for spending more than just lunch or dinner time, as this village does a great job of promoting the First Nations culture with a modern, sophisticated flare. The hotel lobby... We loved everything about the restaurant! the food, wines and service. we will be back... our menu consisted of smoked salmon, harvest soup, rack of veneson with a blue cheese sauce, and a delicious maple custard with fresh fruit.

La Traite is the restaurant attached to the Wendake (Huron) village 20 minutes from Old Quebec. They have a shuttle leaving several spots in Old Quebec for an easy to and from ride to the Wendat Village. What a wonderful surprise! The brunch highly recommended exceeded our expectations. A wonderful selection of delicacies offered by chef Martin Gagné, types and... More

Jessica was our extraordinarily friendly waitress for this very late lunch. She recommended some wonderful combination, making the best of what was left in the kitchen. We had a feast.

The food is exceptional. The blue marlin and roasted root vegetables are filling and deserve a star review of their own. A good selection of wine is also available and served at right temperature. The beer is also worth a taste along with the home made chips.

Very comfortable restaurant. We found the 4 course menu to be a great value. Each course was wonderful. The service was great. We had venison, bison, and salmon, oh, and fantastic deserts.

Locally sourced food served on the terrace surrounded by woods and the sound of the roaring river down the bank. A perfect setting. The food was fine (soup, interesting salad), but the reason for returning is the setting (and maybe a stay in the beautiful boutique hotel in which the restaurant is located.)
