We had dinner here early on saturday. It was not full so service was very fast :) staff was very friendly! (I really appreciate this). Food was nice, but I didn't think it was amazing at all, we took 3 of the chef'a suggestions and the only one I would really recommend are the gyosas, the best I have had... More

We were there just before it got crowded in the evening and were very friendly welcomed and immediately served. The food is prepared right in front of you in the clean open kitchen. All was very fresh and tasty. For European kids who don't like Asian food they serve delicious french fries. The tempura was very crispy and the udon... More

We tried KouGen based on the reviews on TripAdvisor and because we were craving some Japanese food. However, our experience was a bit disappointing. It started off ok as the chicken Yakitori starter was well cooked and tasty. The choice of sushi was however very limited and not good value for money. The speciality sushi dish was a selection of... Nice restaurant with very good Japanese food. Bit more expensive than average in Malaysia though, but worth while.

I was up in Cameron highlands over the last weekend primarily to rest and relax away from the madding crowd. Of course, this was not to be as everybody has the same idea. It was not too bad in the end as we stayed at Brincang itself and everything was within reach within us having to rely on our car... More

It might be ok ... If you like "Korean style Gyoza" which the stuff inside was probably included Gimchi and not crispy skin. If you like "Indian style Curry" which I don't expect when I went to Japanese restuarant. (The pork cutlet that came together was quite good actually.) If you like "?? Wafu Burger" which I really don't know... More

We're vegetarians so we're obviously biased but there wasn't really anything for us. So we gave the scones a shot and it was horrible. Hard, tasteless and just bad. go to lord's cafe for scones. best scones.

Lovely place, fun to watch the guy cook your food as you relax. Food was more real Japanese style that I've seen in most of south east asia. The gyoza were really lovely with a nice complicated taste - so good we ordered another lot when we finished the first. Nice atmosphere, would definitely go back again.

We had both lunch and dinner at KouGen - as it was so good, at a very reasonable price. Two thumbs up!

If you ever have a craving for Japanese food in this part of town, it's really the place to go. They offer a nice spread of Japanese food and in fact, we had one which wasn't even the menu, the shirashi ( not sure if it's spelt right ) sushi. If you love sashimi, you'll definitely love this one. It's... More
