We visited The Boat Inn based on the mainly good reviews on trip advisor. The food was lovely and we were made very welcome. Beautiful location and would imagine on a Sunday lunchtime in the summer, amazing for a pub lunch. Very enjoyable.

We pulled in rather late at lunch and were welcomed by the pub. We sat in the garden which is a cracking spot. Food was delicious and so much we could not finish plates. The shared platter was very enjoyable. Great presentation. Dog welcome and dog bowl provided. See you again.

We visited mid week using our taste card (with no problem) The food was great, generous portions and very tasty. The service was not great- the you woman was new and a bit confused but she was so sweet we didn't mind

Visited here in May with a large party of 14, during a holiday on the Oxford Canal. The pub has a beautiful setting and the beer was good. The food was OK, although the service was a bit disorganised, with a couple of wrong orders taken - plus one of two of the dishes and one of the beers ran... More

Definition of a one shot game - a restaurant that serves food just good enough to satisfy a single visit, but you wouldn't go back. Typical of a busy tourist spot (passing long boats in this instance) Livers & Onions so called very popular. We both tried it and would have it again, if drying our innards out was the... More

We called in after a longish journey to see if they were serving food, lucky we were quite early as it soon filled up. I had a lamb shank which fell off the bone when I lifted it and my Husband's had a pork with black pudding dish with a Divine mustard sauce. The young lad who served us had... More

We happened across The Boat yesterday, while spending a day in the area and what a pleasant experience it was. The food was lovely, especially my chilli con carne, which was well spiced and the IPA was splendid. The service was good and everyone in the pub was friendly, as I joined them to watch the football in a back... More

Had a very pleasant lunch in the (rather unkempt) garden. Lovely interior and very friendly staff who were happy to alter the menu for our dietary requirements. Would definitely return - much better than the Jolly Boatman round the corner!

We stopped here for lunch with my daughter and granddaughter for lunch. My daughter needed to breastfeed and the staff were very helpful and found a quiet corner away from the diners for her to feed baby. The food was excellent in quality, quantity and value for money. Excellent food at reasonable prices. A lovely spot for lunch.
