Mostly great

Our meals in the most part were great. I had the vegetarian Wellington which was lovely but the veg with it was bland and tasteless. I also had creme brulee, again very nice but the shortbread with it was certainly out of a packet. The staff were faultless the setting and the pub were fantastic and... read more

Hidden gem - best burger I ever had was eaten here. Decor is nice enough. Staff were superb, extremely good service and they couldn't help enough.

A group of friends and I visited this lovely pub and restaurant on the banks of the Oxford canal. The food was excellent, the portions enormous and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend this pub.

Good beer; good wine selection. 8 of us ordered from a varied menu with good range of choices. All pleased with that which we had. Pleasant, attentive service. All very reasonably priced. Good atmosphere. We would return.

We've been going to the Boat Inn for years, but hadn't stopped by recently. When we had the opportunity to stop for lunch, it ended up as a fish and chips feast for the family. Absolutely excellent. There is a lot more on the menu and it was clear from what was coming out of the kitchen that it's in... More

Friendly pub in beautiful and serene canal-side location. The service was absolutely outstanding. I was there late one Sunday evening and look forward to a canal-side lunch next time.

This pub / restaurant is very special to my partner and me. Ten years ago we celebrated our civil partnership on our canal boat, moored at Thrupp. I believe we were the first gay couple to 'marry' on a canal boat anywhere in the UK. Afterwards, we held a celebration dinner at The Boat with 30 family and friends. We... More

Just popped in for a light bite found the inn crowded but one of the staff went off and found us a table . The menu was quite extensive but as it was only a snack we wanted we ordered a choice of starters. When they arrived I thought that we had been given someone's meal, they were huge, very... More
