This pub / restaurant is very special to my partner and me. Ten years ago we celebrated our civil partnership on our canal boat, moored at Thrupp. I believe we were the first gay couple to 'marry' on a canal boat anywhere in the UK. Afterwards, we held a celebration dinner at The Boat with 30... read more

Friendly pub in beautiful and serene canal-side location. The service was absolutely outstanding. I was there late one Sunday evening and look forward to a canal-side lunch next time.

Just popped in for a light bite found the inn crowded but one of the staff went off and found us a table . The menu was quite extensive but as it was only a snack we wanted we ordered a choice of starters. When they arrived I thought that we had been given someone's meal, they were huge, very... More

The barman (Josh) who served us was friendly, welcoming and went the extra mile to make sure our visit was worth while. He even played us a tune on the piano - although disliked all the jazz fusion.

We booked a Sunday Lunch for a party of six at the Boat Inn last Sunday and were looking forward to a nice lunch and catching up with friends. Our introduction to the Boat was not a good one. One of our party was knocked over by a waiter who came rushing through without looking, the person was very shaken... More

I've stopped responding to reviews but given the content of this one I feel I must. Firstly let me apologise unreservedly for the accident when you arrived, I have spoken to the waiter concerned and he was mortified by the incident. However in your review you mentioned that the lady was knocked over and this was not the case, she... More

This is a gorgeous pub, lovely location, beautiful interior and great garden space. But with limited parking. We went for a pub lunch on a Sunday with friends, but were only told when ordering that it was a limited sunday lunch menu. Staff were friendly and didnt mind the dogs but drinks were missed. We going for the carvery it... More

We met our son here for lunch on a Monday and I picked this restaurant from reviews. The menu was very good and I chose the steak which was delicious and my husband and son also enjoyed their meals but what made this stand out was the standard of service we received from the barman on duty that day. He... More

The carvery was very nice and very reasonably priced, they made a special kids sandwich for my son who has food intolerances, good baby change facilities and 2 very polite and helpful gents who served us making it an excellent Sunday lunch out. Will be back for sure.
