Last resort choice as the one we wanted was fully booked Out of the way place, lovely and quiet, needs a bit of cash spent on the inside Had a discount card which made it palatable! Good range of drinks, used as location for Morse / memorabilia in the dining area Both had pies which were very... read more

Recently visited this pub with the family for dinner. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to a table. Our food was delivered quickly and was of an excellent standard. They stock a good choice of ales which suited my husband they also have a lovely garden which was good for the children to run around in. The... More

Me and my wife chose to go out for a Sunday lunch and our friend had recommended The Boat Inn, so we gave it a go and it absolutely lovely. The staff were very friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere. I ordered the Sunday carvery and my wife had the Grimsby cod and chips, they were both absolutely beautiful... More

Seriously understaffed with bar staff having to wait at tables and serve a very busy pub. Meant long waits at the bar and when needing service at tables. Guy took our order got it wrong as we were given the wrong starter. Virtually threw it at us and rushed back to the bar which was under siege so never got... More

My family and I stopped at this lovely looking pub for lunch. We found a table quite easily and ordered our food at the bar - two panini and two baguettes. I ordered a ham and cheese baguette WITHOUT onion chutney. After 50mins my brother asked how much longer we would have to wait for our food. He was told... More

i met a friend here for an evening meal since the weather had been lovely and warm. We plumped to sit in the garden as it was much quieter and although the patio and the garden was full of dog ends and cutlery laying on the ground the place can be forgiven as it was probably much busier earlier in... We arrived to discover a production company was filming of a 'Morse' show, his old maroon Jag car was prominently parked in the car park, as were several other production vehicles so parking was the first hurdle. Couldn't sit in the garden as the company were filming there, 2nd hurdle. Food when it arrived was good value though I would... More

What has happened to this pub? Took my husband for a birthday late lunch yesterday Sunday 9 August 2015. Had been so looking forward to it. Husband had the liver and bacon which he described as only okayish. The liver was tough and there was far too much potato but he tolerated it. I chose the roast from the carvery.... More

We don't eat out very often, and when we do it is a special occasion. We decided to try the Boat as I had walked past it many times and thought what a nice location and friendly looking pub it was. We arrived on a Saturday night at about 7:30. The place was quite busy. We bought a drink and... More

We visited this restaurant with friends - service was excellent and food was 10/10 - presentation was also brilliant. Lovely location.
