We visited on a Saturday night and were pleased that they could squeeze us in. When I asked for the wine list, there wasn't one and they had a choice of 3 reds. I asked for Shiraz, they gave me merlot and I swapped it. We ordered 3 rib eye steaks. Two medium rare and one medium. They all came... More

We had been in for a drink on the Friday night and thought we would have a meal on the Saturday so booked a table. The staff are attentive and welcoming. The real ale was excellent (husband sampled 3), However the meals were well presented but my meal was basically a huge wad of mashed potato topped with a small... More

Booked a table on line and had a response within minutes. When we arrived they were expecting us and very welcoming. Service was attentive but not overly so, food was excellent, well presented, served in a reasonable time for fresh food and very tasty.

Working back in the area after several years I was asked for a recommendation for a pub. We used to go here 12 years ago and was pretty good. Today was disappointing. This may be from a personal perspective but looking at the options on the menu it was fried, pies, burgers or steak. Decided in the end on the... More

Ate recently and all members of the group were disappointed with the food quality. The chef has no pride in what he does. Gammon and fried egg with an egg which clearly broke in the frying pan but was still fried until solid and served up on top of the gammon. What sort of chef would do that when he... More

I moored up outside the Boat on Tuesday and popped in for a quick pint - it'd been raining and I was looking for somewhere dry for a bit. The pub was very welcoming, staff and punters. The beer was so good i stayed a little longer than expected. I also had lunch there which i can say hand on... More

4 of us dined last Saturday evening. Nice pub and ambience but ruined by the fact that all 4 meals were very poor quality. A complaint to the owner was met with no acceptance of the complaint....too numerous to list! My advise is find somewhere else

We had a splendid meal at the boat inn. The food was tasty hot and served with a smile. Prices were very good as were the house wines. I thoroughly recommend for a great pub meal if you want to get out of oxford for a night.
