Lovely looking rustic pub, in lovely setting, however, the food is overpriced for what you get. I ordered confit of duck breast which came with duck leg hash, cauliflower mash, wild mushrooms with & red wine sauce. I asked if it was accompanied by a potato dish and was told I could choose from any potato dishes from the menu... More

We turned up 'on spec' and only read the Reviews afterwards. This was a very good advert for Tripadvisor because the rather sad litany of complaint on the review trail echoed our own feelings. Super site, nice ambience and layout, interesting menu, nice beer. But. Just getting a drink was a palaver. The wrong salad arrived. We almost lost the... More

This is a very nice pub in a lovely area. That's the best bit. The service was the worst I have ever experienced and the food was not much better, when I spoke to the manager about our disappointment all we got was a poor sorry. Will never go back.

Sat at somewhat sticky table and then ordered our meal at the bar, which we pointed out needed cleaning, which was then wiped down. My wife ordered the chicken burger which was accompanied by three old radishes with stalks which could have come from the compost heap. Our guest opted for salmon fillet, which came Japanese sushi style, ie raw... More

Wish I'd read the reviews before deciding to eat here rather than The Orchard - rain had been forecast. We were a party of 5 and our visit was just one delay after another. Even getting a drink was a struggle. After waiting more than an hour for main courses I enquired about our order to be told the kitchen... More

We went for lunch this Saturday 21st June On arrival we were not greeted by staff. After standing at the (not too busy) bar for a while being ignored we decided to make our own way to an outdoor table and sit down. The little service what we did have was unfriendly. There was a sign clearing stateing that people... More

Clearly been a busy day for them but no excuse for the completely rude, unwelcoming attitude of the staff. Place was a bombsite, chef was hanging out of the kitchin door scowling & swearing in clear earshot of customers arriving. Girl on bar loudly making off hand comments about others and had the worst attititude ever.

This was supposed to be a birthday celebration for 4 family members. My mother was treating the family to this celebration. The meal took a least 1 hour and 12 mins from ordering to serving then I had to send my salmon fillet back as it was very cold in the middle and not cooked. Please also be aware some... More

Four friends met for lunch today; an attractive room, pretty good food but the staff were the 'clincher'. The two waitresses (Nicole & Caroline) could not have been more charming, friendly and helpful. All pubs and restaurants should realise that having such staff completely transform the 'eating experience'. We felt the quality of the staff was a direct reflection of the... More

Having ordered cold starters, we wondered why it took 25 mins to arrive, Ham hock terrine, very tasty. I then went for Gloucester Old spot sausages with potatoes and spring greens with crispy onions . The whole meal was far too salty. Why do chefs have to over salt food, it certainly spoilt it for me. Not sure if I... More
