The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and restaurant in Easington near Long Crendon that is renowned for its Sunday roasts and superb views of the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside. The country-cottage-chic interior is all chocolate brown and tan leather seats, whitewashed walls and designer fabrics, and the kitchen at The Mole and Chicken uses seasonal ingredients to create their moreish Mediterranean/British menu. We highly recommend the BBQ belly pork ribs; chilli fried baby squid with garlic, lemon and olive oil; and the devilled kidneys on toast. Enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave? You don't have to, just book one of the five boutique bedrooms located next door!

An evening meal to celebrate our seventeenth wedding anniversary

My wife and I dined there last night and must say that fillet steak was perfect. The menu is varied and the wine list very good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cosy and friendly. After our meal we enjoyed coffee on the sofas by the roaring fire. We will... read more

I vacillate between giving a four star or five star review following our visit to the Mole and Chicken, and gave it the benefit of the doubt. We stayed overnight to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and found the Mole and Chicken to be in a beautiful location on a high spot overlooking miles and miles of Oxfordshire countryside. Our bedroom... More

The setting is lovely. Relaxed, inviting with great service and amazing food. I had the squid for starter and a steak which I recommend.

We have just returned from a Valentine's dinner at The Mole & Chicken. This place used to be superb - memories of great food and and friendly atmosphere. So what was the issue? Raw chicken and non-existent service. Just waiting for when the e-coli takes effect! They acknowledged the cooking issue and poor service and credited the food bill but... More

Went there for a Sunday lunch. It was the best roast dinner I've had out so far. The beef was really tender and the jus was amazing. Their hot chocolate fondant was undercooked a minute as it looked like the "leaning tower of Pisa" but was spot on the taste buds it was served with salted caramel ice cream even... More

The location is remote and quiet with stunning views over open countryside. Inside, the décor is cosy and very quaint. Low beamed ceilings and an open log fire. The atmosphere buzzy but very relaxed. The menu is varied and seasonal and everything we ordered was delicious. We had squid and an Asian duck salad to start, belly pork served with... More

I have just returned from an evening birthday meal with my daughter at this pub/hotel/restaurant and I would start with the only complaint I have. There are too many deliciously sounding dishes on the menu. Between the four of us we ordered enough various dishes as starters, mains and puddings to say that the taste and presentation lived up to the... More

Took a group of friendly clients for lunch and had a perfect experience. The food was great, the service was friendly and professional and importantly for lunchtime was accomplished in good time. Been here a couple times and had a consistently good experience. Good value too!

There were nothing bad for me to share.... I had an excellent time at there from the moment I got there till the moment I left. Everyone around us looked as happy and comfortable as me and my boyfriend. They offer a very good meal size (two course was more than enough for us) and the Chef totally knows what... More

A real log fire, good food, interesting wine list. Efficient service. Pleasant staff. Well worth another visit. Or maybe even a stay! Reasonable prices as well. I shall definitely revisit. Thank you Mole and Chicken.
