The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and restaurant in Easington near Long Crendon that is renowned for its Sunday roasts and superb views of the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside. The country-cottage-chic interior is all chocolate brown and tan leather seats, whitewashed walls and designer fabrics, and the kitchen at The Mole and Chicken uses seasonal ingredients to create their moreish Mediterranean/British menu. We highly recommend the BBQ belly pork ribs; chilli fried baby squid with garlic, lemon and olive oil; and the devilled kidneys on toast. Enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave? You don't have to, just book one of the five boutique bedrooms located next door!

The Mole and Chicken is one of the most beautiful locations around. Great menu using local ingredients. We live in the area and this has to be our favourite place by a mile. If it is sunny to has some of the most spectacular views around and you can easily spend the afternoon enjoying the views. Can not recommend highly... More

Out for a girlie lunch we decided on the Mole and Chicken - not having been there for a few years! It was very welcoming with a lovely log fire. Excellent service and THE most delicious lunch. I had a crispy duck salad and it was superb. The duck has been freshly cooked and the salad was a mix of... More

Well not only can I not fault The Mole and Chicken I have to say it really was very good. Lovely service, from a very pleasant waitress who knew her stuff, to a cosy warm atmosphere, to excellent food and good wine. Top marks...........

Revisited after a couple of years gap, as it is a distance from home. We were recommended to go by an acquaintance. Overall the ambience and service was excellent, the food was patchy, salmon starters were excellent, mains were tasty and we were happy, puddings were a let down as the fruit crumble was almost totally crumble with no fruit... Just stayed here for a last minute weekend break. It is charming and full of character. The views are amazing, the rooms cosy and comfortable and the food delicious. The staff are very hospitable and nothing is too much trouble. A lucky find, I'm sure we'll be back.

visited for the first time recently, for a girls get together. First impressions very good - cosy, nice décor, fairly busy. Service was good, pleasant helpful staff, efficient. Menu choices good, undecided as to what to have and we were all extremely happy with our choices. The chicken looked delicious and succulent. The Fillet steak cooked to perfection I tried... More

Whilst entertaining a young lady I visited the Mole & Chicken for a drink. The food at the adjacent table looked and smelt so good I just had to have something myself. The menu offered a number of great sounding dishes however not wanting anything too heavy I opted for the Parpadelle with Rabbit - what a fantastic choice I... More

I'm trying to decide what I think about pictures of scantily-clad ladies in the gentlemen's lavatories of some pubs. Do they really need to provide anything other than a sign saying Gentlemen (or other analogous phrases or images) to indicate which loo is for fellas and is it really necessary to provide any form of accoutrement to enhance the experience... We had a family reunion here just before the New Year. The location of the pub is brilliant and even in winter the views towards Oxfordshire were memorable. There was a welcoming fire and the local ales were good and well kept. The menus are definitely at the top end of the gastro pub scene; mussels, hot smoked eel, black... More
