Description: The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and restaurant in Easington near Long Crendon that is renowned for its Sunday roasts and superb views of the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside. The country-cottage-chic interior is all chocolate brown and tan leather seats, whitewashed walls and designer fabrics, and the kitchen at The Mole and Chicken uses seasonal ingredients to create their moreish Mediterranean/British menu. We highly recommend the BBQ belly pork ribs; chilli fried baby squid with garlic, lemon and olive oil; and the devilled kidneys on toast. Enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave? You don't have to, just book one of the five boutique bedrooms located next door!

We booked on a Groupon voucher and although it was quite a long way from home it was well worth the trip. The deal was Chateaubriand plus a bottle of wine. The steak melted in the mouth and the mushroom side order was cooked to perfection. The only slightly disappointing aspect was that chunky chips were off the menu so... More

This was our third meal here in the past 18 months. Apparently it was once a favourite eating place of the Blairs....not George Orwell's family but Tony and Cherie. No restaurant can be condemned for the political crimes of the clientele. However, it is vey small, and the tables are somewhat crammed in. The lighting on our table was too... More

I experienced a very poor lunch here. The service was unsatisfactory and included standing waiting in the bar for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence, a problem securing a table which had been reserved for myself and a friend, on asking for ice with my water being told the unusual reply 'It comes in a bottle', being referred to... Had a great lunch at the Mole and Chicken today, had heard lots of good things about it and was keen to try for myself - I was not disappointed. Very good menu choice and although I was not adventurous with the Burger it was one of the best I have had - followed by a sumptuous treacle pudding. The... More

Quality of food is exceptional...but.... My visit was spoilt slightly by, in my opinion, a lack of variety in the chose and portion size was small. I also did not notice that when ordering you need to order all veg from the sides at the bottom of menu, the waiter did not tell me either..... Maybe I should open my... More

Top marks for the service and the first class cuisine. Everything from the olives and ale at the start to the puds and coffee was memorable. It makes a nice change to find food that is so fresh, beautifully cooked and well presented, without the overly fussy and self-conscious drizzles of this and that. Quality speaks for itself. Starters of... More

My husband and I arrived on bikes today to find a very quiet restaurant which soon filled up a bit and we had yet another very good experience at the Mole and Chicken. A warm welcome, excellent wine and a really good panfried hake with samphire, potatoes and tomatoes followed by a wonderful raspberry creme brulee. Never disappointed here! We... More

This gastro pub is a real find. We usually pass by for lunch on the way to Cotswolds. The place is very cosy and charming, the food is good. May favourite is the Thai duck salad, and one can have a nice glass of wine. Coffee is served with a small piece of delicious toffee. It ticks all the boxes... More

My now-Husband and I booked to two stay here before our Wedding at Dorton House. We were not disappointed, we stayed in a large room at the back of the Pub overlooking the countryside. It was certainly a welcome sight to walk in after a stressful day to see the rabbits playing in the field. We watched the sun go... More

Nice restaurant. Terrace with a view. Though the reserved table was inside, the staff was very cooperative serving our Sunday roast lunch outside. Nice view over Buckinghamshire. The roast was ok and served with vegetables and potatoes. The potatoes were a bit tough but tasty. Desserts were fine but a bit too much after the roast for some of our... More
