The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and restaurant in Easington near Long Crendon that is renowned for its Sunday roasts and superb views of the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside. The country-cottage-chic interior is all chocolate brown and tan leather seats, whitewashed walls and designer fabrics, and the kitchen at The Mole and Chicken uses seasonal ingredients to create their moreish Mediterranean/British menu. We highly recommend the BBQ belly pork ribs; chilli fried baby squid with garlic, lemon and olive oil; and the devilled kidneys on toast. Enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave? A family getaway

We enjoyed a stay here at Easter. Our room on the ground floor was beautiful. Nicely equipped for 2 adults and 2 young children. Particularly liked the view, the sounds of the cows mooing and the terrace to sit and enjoy a pre dinner drink. My sister's family were also well catered for with the two... read more

This was a half way stop on the way to Somerset. Warmly welcomed by the staff and served with a smile. Everything was provided for our stay and we were presented with a flask of fresh cold milk for our tea/coffee. Evening meal unfaultable as was the freshly cooked breakfast. This is a beautiful location with 5 star service, great... More

Arrived late, no problem, quickly shown through to the table. Drinks order taken immediately. Enough time given to look at the menu then the order efficiently taken. Everyone enjoyed their starters, devilled kidneys really good. Main courses either good or not so, Samphire was old and stringy and whole plate too salty. All agreed the ravioli was the best option.... More

There used to be a pub called "The Mole" near Basingstoke, whose owners claimed it was the only pub of that name in Britain. As The Mole has now closed, we looked to see if the name was in use anywhere else... and found The Mole and Chicken! The name alone was a definite lure, but we were travelling to... More

i had the crispy duck salad, it was a great mix of texture and flavour, others had the kidneys which they said were good, one of us had the smoked eel, again great balance of taste and texture. The mains did not disappoint either, we had scallops, good sized portion,; Hake, crispy firm fish on buttery greens and new potatoes,... More

After a number of years we returned to this wonderful restaurant. A family lunch with friends was served without fuss or rush. The food was beautifully presented and the menu was exciting with some unusual dishes. Staff were courtious and attentive - no problem to change two coffees to irish coffees at the very last moment. All in all a... More

I have just returned from lunch here with my parents. The service is always good, the decor is stylish in an up market country pub way - cosy seating by lovely fire (lit during winter months). The spaghetti with mushrooms, truffle oil and Parmesan was delicious and my Dad has just announced it was the best roast beef sandwich he... More

This was my first visit with friends to this restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Our friends had booked a table which I think is a must for a Saturday night. We had a table in the extension which was good as although we love country pubs my other half is very tall and he didn't need to... More
