Description: The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and...
The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and restaurant in Easington near Long Crendon that is renowned for its Sunday roasts and superb views of the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside. The country-cottage-chic interior is all chocolate brown and tan leather seats, whitewashed walls and designer fabrics, and the kitchen at The Mole and Chicken uses seasonal ingredients to create their moreish Mediterranean/British menu. We highly recommend the BBQ belly pork ribs; chilli fried baby squid with garlic, lemon and olive oil; and the devilled kidneys on toast. Enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave? You don't have to, just book one of the five boutique bedrooms located next door!

Friday Evening Treat

We arrived early for our reservation and were placed in the cosy bar/chill area on the sofas next to the fire (not lit at the this time of year) and had a drink before we were shown to our table, which was situated in a fantastic spot in view of the fields on the opposite side of the road and... read more

The staff here are pretty blunt and keep you waiting till they decide they will serve you or bring you the bill. It has a limited menu and some of the tables are very cosy it is also pretty noisy. Probably sells the most expensive sour dough roll in the world £3.50 for four slices and a pat of butter.... More

We love the ambience in this typical country restaurant with its oak beams and contemporary feel. It's has a great outdoor area with decking overlooking beautiful countryside and it's ideal on sunny days The meals are all good especially the chateaubriand steak. The homemade soup of the day is always good too.

I pass the Mole and Chicken regularly as it's on the way to my daughter's school. I have been in for dinner with family before but never for lunch. I popped in with my daughter and sister on Saturday for a late lunch and the food was beautiful. A jug of pimms was a bargain at £10. We ordered the... More

Was looking for a pub/restaurant to meet halfway between Berks and Beds and chose this from Good Pub Guide 2015. Beautiful sunny evening, views are amazing from garden. Restaurant was busy but we found a quite table for 2. Food very good and service, though a little slow was friendly and good. Would recommend

This was a difficult one. We had not been here for around 5 years but thought we would give it a go. Service and food were very good but when the bill came it just seemed expensive! £300 for 4. We paid the same prices for Hawksmoor in London recently and they have London overheads! A gin and tonic was... More

This is our local. We all know what familiarity breeds but The Mole continues to deliver great food with friendly service in a wonderful building in a beautiful location. What more can I say? Apart from "Go there"

I went here with my (grown up) family at the end of May and enjoyed every minute. Lovely setting, we had a drink and read the menu on the terrace while we took in the view. Friendly staff and just the right amount of attention. The ambience and atmosphere were excellent. The food was well presented and very tasty (oops,... More

We loved this place so much we visited 3 times in one week ! The food was excellent, and the staff were absolutely outstanding. It's also very good value for money and has a lovely garden terrace.
