See my hotel review for more details. Suffice it to say that it was the best deal in town and a delightful experience. Ask for a table in the inner courtyard. Highly recommended.
Visited with partner and 15 year old son while on holiday on the recommendation of friends who live nearby for an evening meal. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. The dining room was beautifully set up and the service was faultless. We had one set menu which was just under 20 euros and the others ate a... More
We booked this restaurant based upon TA reviews and it did not disappoint. Choosing the gourmet menu we enjoyed a terrific dining experience with courses of the finest ingredients incredibly presented, the lamb was probably the pick. The wine menu is equally extensive and offers some real value in its selections. Service was excellent with discrete but attentive staff. We... More
OK - three aspects to this place: Look and feel: Really well set up and decorated - lovely courtyard and good quality plates / glasses etc. Nearly fine dining level but not quite. Tables a bit close in the courtyard when you have the obligatory self promoting idiot telling his table how wonderful he is at volume. Food: Faultless. We... More
A really delicious meal, with attentive service in a pleasant room. Midweek, the place was pleasantly full and atmospheric. The €35.80 menu with 4 courses was very good value. We were amused to see the children's menu offered 6 snails as a first course! Show that to a British kid used to nuggets... This fabulous meal was followed by a... More
Coulon is a beautiful little town on the Marais Poitevin near Niort, very picturesque. We had a wonderful meal in the Hotel Le Central in a very nice dining room. The service was excellent and the food was superb, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The price was very reasonable considering the quality. Highly recommended. The only small issue was... More
Very nice restaurant with high standards of presentation in a lovely dining room. The courtyard is pleasant for al fresco dining in the summer months.

On arriving we were told the chef was away on a weeks holiday and the dining room was closed . To say we were dismayed is an understatement . The least they could have done was to warn ujs in... More
This is my favourite place for VERY special occasions. Food is just divine, presentation - must see yourself. Very imaginative cooking, worth your trip there, but book in advance....well in advance
We had a delicious lunch here from the very good-value 18 Euro menu. Everything was perfect: food, service, location, ambiance. Couldn't fault it. If we'd been in the area for longer we'd have gone back again the next day. Highly recommended.
