This destination dining spot is set inside the historic Meikleour Hotel, a picturesque, ivy-covered inn located between Blairgowrie and Perth. The home-made bistro-style menu here attracts food-lovers from far and wide, and the cosy wood-panelled dining room - with its tartan carpets and white linens - has become a local institution. All the food here is prepared in-house, from the stock-pots to the puddings, and fresh fish is delivered daily from the boats in Aberdeen, and the wine list is hand-picked. Ideal for romantic meals and celebrations, the Meileour has a feel-good home-away-from-home atmosphere, and star dishes include the beef pie flavoured with the hotels own Perth-brewed Lure of Meikleour ale.

Excellent food

This is a very good place to eat. The food is good and they have a good selection of real ales to drink. A very pleasant atmosphere and very efficient staff. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

We recently had an evening meal at this lovely place in beautiful Perthshire countryside. It was a warm evening and it was good to be able to have a pre-meal drink in the garden. We ate in the bar area, a pleasant and comfortable environment. The service was warm and friendly, the staff giving the impression that nothing was too... More

Decided to visit again for lunch, lovely setting, service was excellent. My meal was spot on, however my other half was disappointed in presentation of fish dish. Although the food was excellent, atmosphere perfect, just left a little disappointed. He felt plate was too big for meal and something missing. However would recommend and will definitely return again.

Dear mrsmcenroe Thank you for taking the timeout in posting a lovely review after your recent visit. Although you indicated that we got most aspects of your visit right, we also appreciate honest and constructive feedback and the comments concerning the fish dish have been taken on board. Kind Regards Greg More

Had dinner on Saturday night - excellent food with a good "specials" menu. Good comfortable friendly atmosphere. One of the things we like about The Meikleour is that they serve food all day. Probably best to book at peak times, however, we've never been turned away as there is setting in the bar area also. We would definitely recommend.

We often visit the Meikleour Arms and have had lovely meals. In fact the meal we had at Hogmanay was probably one of the best ever, especially considering how busy the whole place was. However, we visited this evening and, although the meal was good, we were very disappointed at how many items on the menus were not available. We... More

Perfect lunch menu, with good friendly service, in a little village just off the main A93. Feels almost like the local pub

We've been visiting this Restaurant for a number of years, and have always had a very positive experience, food and service wise, but we've been twice recently, once Mid Oct 2014, when it took so long to get served it ruined our family's whole experience, but we thought it would be a one off, so went back today and its... Meiklelour is a beautiful spot to stop inside and outside seating with lovely trees and grass area. Just off the Blairgowrie Perth main road it is a nice stop for dinner or lunch.
