Amazing food, beautifully presented, perfection on a plate. Staff always friendly and just the right level of attentiveness.

A beautiful restaurant overlooking the Firth of Forth. We decided on the taster menu. Goats cheese panne cotta with tomato foam looked beautiful and was served artistically but lacked flavour. The crab bisque was bursting with Thai flavours though. Next came a halibut dish but unfortunately was slightly overcooked. The cheeseboard was fine as was the pudding of blackberry parfait... More

After reading the ratings I was disappointed that Craig Millar couldn’t justify the £42 for a set menu and circa £30 for a bottle of wine. My overriding feeling at the end of the evening was that we had paid too much for an OK but otherwise fairly ordinary experience. The food tended to be either slightly bland (as opposed... More

My friend and I had walked from Elie on the Fife Coastal Path and came across this lovely restaurant, which has an outside seating area looking out across the ocean. It was a beautiful October day and we sat in the sunshine and it could have been the coast of Greece, so blue were the sea and the sky, and... More

I visited for lunch with a friend and was impressed from start to finish. The welcome of the staff was warm and inviting, sitting in the bar area next to the fire warming up on a cold day whilst choosing a drink and making meal choices was a nice start to the experience. The food was brilliant, we had the... More

Went for our annual visit - and the food was stunning yet again. Highlight was venison and duck confit bonbon and pear and blue cheese and quince and chocolate - shouldn't have all worked, but did beautifully. Wine list is very good and very fairly priced. Criticism - portions a tad small, so left feeling a little underfull. A second... More

We have been here both for lunch and dinner. The lunch menu is really good value. The restaurant looks nothing if you come in from West End through the back door and when you go through to the dining area it is a beautiful setting with views out over the Firth of Forth. The service is attentive and effecient without... More

I made the annual visit to the restaurant with my mum, walking from Elie along the coast. Once again a lovely meal with attentive and friendly service. The braised ox cheeks were fantastically deep in flavour and the starters full of flavour. A great place to go for a lovely lunch in East Neuk.

Celebrating mum's birthday, and retracing steps from family holidays long past we found ourselves at this wonderful restaurant. Mum was thrilled to realise that she remembered the restaurant in its former incarnation as The Cabin. The staff were delightful, and happy to chat about the history of the place, and times gone by. Now much renovated to make the most... More

We booked a late lunch to accommodate some family who could not eat earlier and arrived at 1330, we were welcomed and made to feel very comfortable even though the staff knew they would be working well into the afternoon. The food was more than excellent, the wine list exceptional and the spice first class. The view from the restaurant... More
