Melt in the mouth pastry

I stopped for lunch and had a wonderful home-made quiche with the kind of pastry mothers [or in my case grandmothers] used to make. Also a very pleasant ambience and friendly staff. And the gallery upstairs is a nice extra and worth a look. The display of cakes was tempting but I was too full. I... read more

Popped in here today after a full day of domestic tourism in East Lothian. Great cup of tea and treacle scone. Nice, warm, relaxing atmosphere and the artwork on the walls is fantastic too. Wish I'd had the money to buy some.

Super little friendly cafe which provides real home cooking of a very high standard. Nothing posh..just exactly what you need after a beach walk with soups and home made bread, superb cakes and they are able to cater for gluten free. Accessible...if only it were dog friendly....

Six of us went here for a "light bite" on a recommendation but sorry to say none of us will be back. Two of us ordered plain cheese toasties but when they arrived they were cheese/pickle (had to send back). On the blackboard it said "roast beef sandwich". When it came it was covered in horseradish which my sister does... More

Just had a wonderful Sunday lunch of Roast Pork served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings and orange stuffing balls. What a delicious treat and followed by really tasty fruit crumble. If you want alcohol to go with the lunch it is BYOB. But it is not needed. The real gem is the price. At only £10 for 2 courses, not... More

Delicious home made cakes and scones with nice décor. Also lovely sheltered outside courtyard. They were also exceedingly helpful by opening the side door to ease exit for an infirm family member,

Tucked away on the outskirts of the village, but worth seeking out. A place to bear in mind if visiting the castle or doing a bit of walking. Decent coffee served in proper mugs, prices compare well with most other coffee shops, and good cakes on offer. We've not been there for Sunday lunch yet, but at £10 for two... More

Tucked away in a hidden corner of Dirleton Village is one of East Lothian’s many hidden secrets! Within strolling distance of the beach and just around the corner from the local church you will find a welcoming stopover for what is terrific homemade baking and the best value for a full-blown 3 course lunch you will find! Having visited twice... More

Visited for the first time today with my family, including disabled father. Very kind and helpful waiting staff. Lunch was really fabulous and such fantastic value - two courses for £10 and BOB!! I enjoyed spinach soup with rustic bread, followed by roast pork with apricot stuffing with all the usual sides, including two light and crispy, delicious yorkshire puddings.... More
