Description: Tucked away inside the West Lodge Park Hotel, the Mary Beale Restaurant...
Tucked away inside the West Lodge Park Hotel, the Mary Beale Restaurant and Bar provides an elegant but unpretentious setting for any occasion. Enviably located close to Trent Park and Hadley Wood, the dining room is a traditionally stylish space with huge windows letting in plenty of natural light. Executive Chef Wayne Turner and his team use locally sourced produce to create seasonal British dishes and a selection of snacks and light options which are served in the bar. We recommend the organic salmon with dill risotto and the Sacombe Hill Farm beef fillet with mushroom gratin. Why not treat the family to the Mary Beale Restaurant's legendary Sunday lunch, or sample a glass or two from their excellent wine list?

We stayed at the Hotel as part of a visit to family and a university tour for our son. We decided to book afternoon tea for 12 after enjoying a previous experience and we were not disappointed. The quality of sandwiches and cakes were second to none and there is a wonderful choice of teas. We were a mixed group... More

Thank you for your kind review of afternoon tea in the Mary Beale Restaurant at West Lodge Park. I am so glad that we looked after you so well. The weather is just hinting at better times ahead, and I think all of us are heartily sick of winter now. Afternoon tea on the terrace is not too far away... More

We go to the once a month or every other month to catch up with family. I haven't been since before Christmas, and went with my 3 year old daughter and mum. My daughter used to enjoy the food but the children's menu does not exist any more. I noticed that it said she could only have a "child size"... More

Thank you for your comments about the lack of child friendly menus at West Lodge Park. I think you are being quite unfair as we are able to cook more simply any dish that is on the menu. We have lots of child friendly dishes such as beefburgers, chicken burgers, sausage and mash, omelettes, club sandwiches, potato wedges, chips, cheese... More

I met up with a friend for afternoon tea yesterday and it was excellent. Our waiter, Peter, was professional, attentive and friendly at the same time. I have recently been to The Ritz in London for afternoon tea and can honestly say I much prefer West Lodge in terms of ambience, food and value for money. I would not hesitate... More

Thank you for your kind review of West Lodge Park afternoon tea, It is not often we are compared favourably with the Ritz, so will happily accept the compliment. I actually think the Ritz is a bit of a rip off, as afternoon tea has become almost an industrial product, given that bookings for tea start at 11.30 in the... More

Stayed at the hotel on business. Set menu price in the evening restaurant were reasonable. The lamb was delicious as were the steaks. (I was there for 2 weeks). I wouldn't recommend the chicken burger as this was dry (in my opinion). Breakfast was buffet style with pastries, fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast. Lovely breakfast!! If staying at the hotel,... Thank you for your review of the Mary Beale Restaurant at West Lodge Park. At our recent stay at the hotel we had a three course dinner at the restaurant, the food especially the double baked soufflé was outstanding. The staff made as feel welcome and we had a lovely relaxing evening.

Thank you for your kind review of the Mary Beale Restaurant. LeeValleyWoman has retired. After 36 years working the boggy clay soil in the murky Lee Valley she's decided to pack it all in. Can't say I blame her.
