We've eaten here twice recently and have been delighted with everything - from the menu, to the service and the price. Great choices for everyone, and some of the tastiest food I've eaten in a long time. The sweetie shop went down a treat with the kids (and husband!). I'd recommend to anyone.

Went with 9 others and all had an enjoyable time. The change in owner has taken time to style in and there is still a way to go. I for one will go back.

What an amazing lunch, very reasonably priced, and packed with flavour. We've been to Tony's restaurants in Edinburgh many times, but this was our first visit to The Old Bakehouse and we'll be back soon. There's a reduced selection menu for lunch, £10 for 2 courses or £13 for 3. We went for the a la carte menu, around £14... More

My brother had booked this restaurant for my birthday, while my husband and I were up there visiting him and my niece. It was as nice surprise. The restaurant has lots of character, the waiters and waitress's gave excellent service and the food was beautifully cooked. It was a nice touch that Tony Singh went round the tables asking if... Looking for a last minute table, we booked at the Old Bakehouse, one of our local restaurants and which had visited on a number occasions in the past, not realising that it was under new ownership. What a meal: haggis, tatties and neeps pakora followed by Tony's signature Punjabi salmon, washed down with chocolate soup and breads. Wines selected by... More

Visited here for a birthday celebration - menu was far more extensive and reasonably priced than I had expected. The food was phenomenal from start to finish, the decor and atmosphere is unpretentious and just right. The staff were friendly, attentive, humorous - as you'd expect from Tony Singh's establishment. Overall, I can't wait to go back and highly recommend... More

We have been to the New old Bakehouse a few times now since Tony has taken over. Every time we have been the food has been lovely and service has been good. Recently we have been during the week for the 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £13 which is amazing value for the quality of food. Only... More

Went here for the offer which gives three courses for £13 from 12- 6 pm Wednesday to Friday. Great offering, portion controlled at this price but well presented from a set menu which still gives enough choice for a light meal. Staff very welcoming and friendly..... Can't understand some of the previous comments!

The Old Bakehouse is now under the highly skilled and competent command of Tony Singh. The restaurant has been given a new look and is now a bit brighter and modern looking. Some may mourn the passing of the old, "clubby" and dimly lit restaurant that it once was but I reckon the new decor suits rather well. The restaurant... More

This was our first trip to the Bakehouse since it changed hands earlier this year. Overall, we found our experience disappointing. The decor is now rather stark compared to the warm, intimate surroundings of the previous version. The front-of-house welcome was lukewarm and we really didn't feel very welcome. My wife had the fish of the day - a small... More
