Great seafood, poor service.

We booked for an early evening meal at 6pm and arrived a few minutes early. The restaurant, which has been refurbished since our last visit, was very busy but we were shown to our table, given menus and waited and waited. Eventually our order was taken, I ordered a starter of scallops followed by... read more

Last night I visited the restaurant with my family. On arrival the staff were very welcoming, despite having noted our booking for 2 less people than we said on the phone. It took a long time for anyone to take our drink orders, and an even longer wait for food orders. We had the selection of breads as a starter... More

I love this place. I go several times a year but when we went on St. Patrick's day we had a really poor experience. Even though when I booked I told them there would be two young children in the party we were only told after waiting 15 mins on a menu that they no longer had a children's menu.... More

I had dinner here recently with some friends, it was no surprise at all that the food was just wonderful. There was four of us we had lobster, seabass scallops all parties were very happy. The wine was equally good and the service was excellent. In short fantastic and worth the effort to get there from any where in the... More

We had an amazing family meal, great value for the excellent standard of dining. Our Dinner for 4 with wine came to a little over £100 for two courses. The scallops, mussels and seafood chowder were all amazing and our fish mains were superb. My husband loved his steak and all in all it was a fabulous meal. Lovely ambience,... More

Have often passed this restaurant en route to Newcastle, but only visited because we received a gift card. We found the staff to be welcoming and the food was delicious. Will make a point of calling in next time we are passing through Dundrum.

I had the most fortunate experience of dropping into The Mourne Seafood Bar in Dundrum after a day of walking with my husband. At 5:45 the restaurant was already buzzing and we were quickly found a table by the lovely maitre'd. We both had a soup of cauliflower, leek and stilton to warm us up and I didn't want the... More

A visit to the County Down coast area was successfully completed by a most enjoyable and relaxed Friday evening meal. The attention and service were faultless having the balance of helpfulness and respecting privacy. Beautiful smoked haddock and hake followed the starters of chowder and mussel's, all of which were tasty and of substantial portions. Chorizo and bean with hake... More

Spent a very enjoyable valentines evening here as we were staying nearby. Reasonably priced meal which included a glass of prosecco. It was a nice atmosphere and the service was very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. We had oysters and scallops to start which were very tasty, however my cod main course with black pudding fritters was absolutely... More
