Lovely meal as always

We eat at Balloo maybe twice a year, and it's always lovely. This was no exception. I took my father, partner and two sons there for Father's Day last Sunday and it was just a lovely meal from start to finish. Service was friendly and well paced- we've occasionally in the past had slow service... read more

I went for an evening meal with my wife and sister in law, the first time we've been there. It was a mixture of good and bad. My sister in law started with the soup which was an everyday vegetable soup. My wife and I both had the salt and pepper squid. The squid in a light batter was quite... More

Our family of four booked a table for lunch last Saturday. This was our first visit to Balloo House - it had been recommended to us by friends. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table. The menu was varied and there were 'specials' available - there was also a nice Kids Menu for our daughter. The food... More

We visited on a Saturday evening at a busy time. The staff were polite and attentive. The food was very good. We will definitely be back.

The food was very good, maybe a LITTLE overpriced for the portion size but all in all very good. We went during one mid-week evening and it was pretty busy

We called at Balloo House on our way back from the Mournes last Friday evening and had a table booked for 2030. We were promptly seated and provided with the menus. We both agreed on the pork and leek sausages with lentils and mash. It was a very good pick. A good menu with a range of options. We decided... More

My husband and I visited Balloo house for the first time this evening. The waiter who we spoke with on entering the restaurant was quite rude. I wanted to leave but my husband suggested we stay we were given the menus, and asked if we would like anything to drink? Thankfully, that was the last we seen of this "waiter" with... More

we booked the upstairs function room for a birthday party and the meal was top notch as always here, the surroundings cosy and private but most of all the staff, and especially our particular waiter, were patient, attentive, helpful and pleasant. nothing was a problem and he just worked away in the background until needed. very impressed.

Visited Balloo for Sunday lunch, really tastefully decorated, and very friendly hosts. Large menu, which included many specials as well as a Sunday lunch menu. Had a selection of starters which were really nice. The main courses were generally good, with the exception of the lamb. I unfortunately got a very though and fatty rump of lamb. I reckon this...
