The food served at Balloo House continues to be top notch - we fly over from Dorset once a year just to visit! The service is friendly, attentive and welcoming, there is a large menu choice and the food is simply perfect. No idea how you produce such excellent food for such a reasonable price, but we'll be back again... More

We were treated to a lovely dinner here on Mothers' Day. There was an a la carte menu and a fixed 3 course menu available and an extensive choice from both. Starters included a fine chicken liver parfait, delicious pea and ham risotto and a tasty smoked haddock chowder. Lots of appreciative noises were made and we looked forward to... More

Arrived somewhat late for dinner but the staff managed to sort us out. Excellent food with a great taste. Staff were very helpful to us. Plus side we had some entertainment in the form of folk music.

7 of us dined at Balloo last Sunday for my Dads 81st birthday. We were disappointed by the slow service. Drinks order was taken and I had to remind the waitress to bring the drinks. Starters were excellent and after a long wait our dinner arrived. The lamb was so fatty it was returned to the kitchen. When the meal... More

Decided to book here after seeing it recommended in the book “Where Chefs Eat”. I can’t remember which top chef recommended it, but thank you for your wisdom. We had the set Sunday lunch which came in at £23 per person for a three course lunch. Not cheap for lunch but certainly worth every penny. The menu was comprehensive and... More

Our friends are more than happy to drive 30 mins to enjoy Balloo's menu, we live nearby - easy!! The renovations have made a difference to reduce the noise levels and it looks great. The tables still have plenty of room between them. He food was excellent as always. Risotto starter with butternut squash and the hard-to-pass Young Buck local... More

We had a Christmas party at balloo last Saturday night. There was approximately 45 of us there as we have our annual farmers night out in balloo every December. Despite such a large party and a packed restaurant the service couldn't be faulted and the food was the best I've had in a long time. Many thanks Balloo house for... More
