We had the lamb shank and pork belly which were excellent. Service was also excellent and this restaurant can be recommended.

We took a drive out to spot whales off of Glentana, and stopped at the Trans Karoo restaurant for lunch today (Friday). We were the only guests and chose a table close to the wood fire inside. (There are tables on the sea facing decking as well). We selected the garlic snails with blue cheese to share, followed by the... More

Stopped for lunch after the "catwalk" at Botlierskop. Glad we did. Very good food, and efficient and professional service. We will back.

We enjoyed having lunch in the old station building of Great Brak. The service was friendly if rather slow and the food was enjoyable even if only the one part of the "duo of duck" was delicious - the breast of duck was rather tough. Still an enjoyable experience.

We live in Great Brak and the Transkaroo is our favourite restaurant for excellent food in a unique environment, the original station building. The Karoo lamb neck is to die for, and if you still have any tummy-room, the lavender brulee for dessert!

I visited this restaurant with a group of golf friends. The atmosphere is warm and unique, the building used to be train station many years back. The staff was friendly and efficient. The menus are on the walls of the restaurant and the selection of excellent wines are displayed in a corner for selection. The food was delicious and excellent... More

We went for lunch and had the Trans Karoo - which was lamb neck, slow cooked, tender, and served on mash with vegetables and the pork belly with crackling also with mash and vegetables. Both were deliscious.

Our family hugely enjoyed the delicious menu on offer. From the Kassler steaks, beef stroganoff, to the signature dish of the Transkaroo lamb all was superb. There was barely enough room for dessert but we couldn't pass it by and it was worth it! The decor, ambience and wine list contributed to a memorable evening and we plan on visiting... More
