had a lunch here after being out walking. The lady behind the bar was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The pork belly was amazing and the crackling perfect. I would have rated this a five but the pie crust was overdone and was chewy. This was a real shame as it let the meal down. i would eat here... read more

Had a Sunday meal here where we found the food was superb and the waitresses very attentive. Every detail we needed was sorted and we were very impressed with our visit overall. Price was just right and we shall be back soon.

Our village pub. Like a lot of village pubs it's been up and down in the last few, difficult, years. But for many of those years we've taken advantage of the Sunday Lunch takeaway menu. Does what it say on the tin, and on a Sunday when you're dealing with an ill relative, celebrating a birthday and making marmalade its... More

Was one of our favourite places and I used to be so impressed with the service from the girls...but it's slipped. Slipped quite a lot really. Need to get back to basics of good quality and a fair quantity of food and with nothing too much of an problem. What on earth are you thinking when you charge for an... More

A truly excellent establishment offering fine beers and excellent food in truly lovely surroundings at the heart of this beautiful Monmouthshire village! Chosen for its culinary reputation, we timed our visit for the evening of the Rugby World Cup final group matches and shared an evening with Welsh Rugby supporters firmly backing Australia to win against England. They we rewarded... More

Plenty of crackling with the tender belly pork, we had to wait a while for the main course but in fairness we didn't have a starter. I had the smaller portion to leave room for the pudding course. A good decision. Tredegar Arms is obviously very popular as it was full. Unfortunately i was seated near the door and got... More

I called in at Saturday lunchtime, happy that it wasn't totally full , they had a few tables free. I chose the open beef pie , to go with my pint of Ubu. A nice simple, but very tasty lunch in a nice quiet village location.

Last two visits we came away thinking, well that was OK. But really thats all, food is just OK. Bar seems to have lost the atmos it used to have, not sure why, new staff, different owners, who knows. But either way its a little underwhelming - shame as a few years ago t was genuinely special,
