We love Upstairs and make it a point to come every time we are in Freeport. Everything we’ve tried is so good. Love the shrimp and grits! It’s a must if you are visiting Freeport or live there.

We went for dinner at 5:00 pm, which is earlier than the popular time, and had a quiet table to ourselves. The servings are generous, and the mullet was wonderful! My husband had vegetables and mashed potatoes as sides, while I chose the vegetables and...rice. We shared a signature salad for a perfect meal -- and I had enough for another meal to take home. We're both gluten free, and they were able to accommodate us easily! Our view was lovely, seated right at the window!More
The food was OK but overpriced. $25 for a container of fish soup? Granted, we hear it is really good, but really? The chicken and rice meal was OK but also a bit pricey for the little you get.
The food is always to die for. I’ve tried to every thing from the appetizer, local mix drink, to the entrees nothing is ever a disappointment from the burger, to the surf and turf, the shrimp and grits, the waffles and wings, or the local...catch of the day. The food at the upstairs on the bay is always greatttt. Customer service your always greeted with a smile and a warm atmosphere of the employees remembering you and happy to serve. I love it there!More
Beautiful location looking over the waterway. Friendly service. Extensive menu. The coconut prawns with pina colada sauce were excellent. Reasonable prices compared with rest of Grand Bahama. Highly recommend!
Our server - spelling? Gigi was great! Do let them know if you would prefer faster service as they usually try to give you island time... Nice Bar area The table started with dinner portion of cracked conch and I highly recommend it - it...is the best that I have had so far ever! For dinner three of the group had the Grouper either pan seared or blackened, which was lightly applied and NOT too salty, excellent flavor BUT was served bone IN for that flavor, so harder to eat. Two of group has Surf and Turf - nice NY strip and delicious lobster tail Sides with dinner: Macaroni and cheese wedge is fantastic and a must have and the vegetable medley of sliced carrots and broccoli perfectly cooked - still snappy Dessert: vanilla ice cream, but do think to add a liquor, fruit or both on itMore
Friendly and really good food and value. This is a local little gem with really lovely staff only matched by the food. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed
I have never been to this restaurant, but i kept seeing it so I decided to take a visit there for my birthday. Now the service was absolutely fabulous. My friends &’ I ended up tipping the cashier personally. She was absolutely nice. Overall the...food is amazing, appetizing &’ most definitely mouth watering. I want to go again sometime but I will certainly be requesting that waitress. I got to take a picture of her id tag.More
The Margarita's were great and the local grouper was absolutely out of this world! It was the best piece of fish we had on the island! The atmosphere is quaint, there is a view of the channel but no outdoor dining. The staff was terrific!...and friendly!More
We have been going to Upstairs on the Bay for several years and have always loved it! We always know what to expect and this year was no different. Great food, excellent service, lively atmosphere, and beautiful view of the channel, whether there for breakfast,...lunch, or dinner. Liz and the wait staff are wonderful and we always look forward to seeing them. Keshaun, Melanie, Michelle, and especially Shamene are awesome! (Sorry if I left out anyone or misspelled names.) Thank you Genie for taking care of us and making our reservations. We hope to see you all again soon!More
I love Bell Channel Inn, I love Jerry, Lizbeth & Presley, I love Caribbean Divers, I love my shark friends & I love Grand Bahama
Thank you for your response. We are very pleased to know you've enjoyed your stay here.
We enjoyed our lunch of chicken caesar salad and a club house sandwich. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. The view of the bay is memorable. The Bahamian people are kind and very friendly. My husband fell in the parking lot before we went into...the restaurant. A young fellow working next door came immediately to offer assistance and cleaned and bandaged his scrapes. What a sweet guy.More
Awesome. We are truly glad you enjoyed your experience here and that we were of great assistance to you.
Their burger night (happens to be when we went) was great! you get a burger and a Sands beer for 12 bucks... The ultimate was the "conch burger" which consisted of a pile (big pile) of cracked conch on a hamburger bun... No doubt a...treat!More
Thank You . We are glad that you enjoyed your time here.
My family & I went to this location to have dinner. The service received was most unsatisfactory. Not only did we receive spoilt shirmp, burnt burger bread, and food not received when we asked for. But the service was most unsatisfactory. Not only was the...supervisor unwilling to listen to the customer, but it was almost as if we were attempting to push words in our mouths. This was one of the worst service I've had in Freeport. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed.More
Not a fancy destination like the other restaurants in Port Lucaya (located in the mid-market Bell Channel Inn)but I will echo the other comments I read on it before: they make it up by serving big plates for what amounts to a reasonable price. If...you stay st the hotel don’t hesitate to eat thereMore
Thank you for your amazing review! We hope to see you again soon.
