Nice Italian for the islands

Small cozy place at Lucayan marketplace. Plenty of service staff for such a small place. Many classic Italian dishes. Penne pasta with Lobster was delicious. The owners are very friendly. Prices are fair.

This place was great. They had some excellent authentic Italian Cuisine. The portions were perfectly sized! The chocolate mousse was awesome! Great diamond in the rough!

We first came to Port Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island in 2013. We searched for a good restaurant and could not find anything but mediocre tourist fare. Then we happened upon Giovanni's, tucked away behind Rum Runners bar. Now Giovanni's is a great restaurant, with superior service, fresh authentic food and is simply superior by far to any restaurant at... More

After Jeffrey took me fishing and put me on the snapper my wife and I brought our catch to the chef at Giovanni's and he prepared it 3 ways (grilled, blackened, sauteed). We added the steamed vegetables and roasted potatoes. We started with some buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes drizzled with balsamic and it was fantastic. Last time we ate here was about... More

Started out as an inexpensive $12 / per meal during early bird (4 - 6 PM) as we were listening to music in the square next door and the timing was right. Turned into one of our favorite "family" Italian restaurants of all time. There is a sense that comes across you when you find good people and these are... More

Friendly, good food and great service. Nothing too much trouble. Had pastas, salad, steak, shrimp cocktail, melon & parma ham, tiramisu, ice cream. All great. No dislikes. Traditional restaurant.

Fine dining, finely managed, fine wait staff. Fussy about Italian food so I set the bar high. Chef Giovanni and Genny ALWAYS clear it by a Bahamian mile. Been going there every year for 15 years each time we're in Port Lucaya. You won't find a better or more consistently good restaurant anywhere.

Close to 8pm, as Lucaya marketplace was closing its shops, a waitress ushered us over to check out the menu. After showing us the special for 2 seafood pastas, 2 salads, 2 glasses of wine and dessert for 49.99, we were sold! The owner of the restaurant even came out to reiterate the deal, lol. The pasta was good! See... More

Best of best. Tucked in on a side street just down from Rum Runners and the Daiquiri Bar just off Count Basie Square. Giovanni's Italian and Ginny is Bahamian and all their dishes are great. Reservations aren't required but I recommend to go ahead to ensure your spot. Nice wines, fantastic desserts. At least one person in your party needs... More
