Always pleasurable and delicious and my single favorite spot in Nassau. Ambiance in courtyard is delightful and relaxing. Everything is fresh and with lots of menu choices sure to satisfy everyone. Can easily make a meal of apps: fish and pasta great. Perfect for lunch or dinner or just desert.

We ate here Friday, May 17th. We stayed at the Atlantis resort and had friends who recommended we leave the resort and try Cafe Matisse for one of our dinners. After a $12 taxi ride from Atlantis, we had a fabulous dinner and the service was great. Two servers continuously checked on us, cleared dirty plates and silverware, and refilled... More

This restaurant is tucked into a wall of buildings in downtown. Didn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in the door wow! Super charming! There were private rooms, and tables on the balcony upstairs, indoor and outdoor seating downstairs. The patio was charming - probably the best ambience of any patio I've ever dined on. Lots... More

My wife and had an early dinner here and it was fabulous. The wait staff was extremely responsive and the owner was very friendly. We were seated outside, but a passing shower caused us to move indoors. The owner gave my wife and I a drink on the house for our trouble. it was no trouble at all, but we... More

Cafe Matisse is the first restaurant that we think of when we want a special evening. The food is fresh, creative and delicious. Italian cuisine with local ingredients infused. The staff are friendly, informed about the dishes, very professional and willing to accommodate in any way. The owner is always on site making sure that customers are getting the best... More

I have now been here twice but my luck with the service is not so good. The food is exceptional. It is italian, and they incorporate the lobster and conch into the cuisine very well, offering dishes which blend into a kind of mediterranean/italian fusion. The scallops and lobster pasta dishes are all winners. I tried their modification of duck... More

First time in Nassau and we chose Matisse based on these reviews and they did not lie! The food was impecable along with the service. I proposed to my girlfriend prior to our visit. Once the staff found out they moved us to the patio (which is spectacular by the way) and served free champagne! Everything about this place is... More

This hidden gem in Nassau is the perfect lunch or dinner spot. Close to the cruise port and near the shopping. We had lunch and sipped champagne in the beautiful courtyard. The Italian food was amazing. Would recommend to anyone in Nassau for a cruise stop or staying on the island.

This is our second time going to Cafe Matisse, and the food is terrific. The cannelloni is superb -- a "can't miss" choice on the menu! The ambiance with the outdoor dining is terrific (if you don't mind a stray cat or two mingling among the legs of the tables and of the guests!). As with any restaurant that you... More

we visit this restaurant on every trip to Nassau. It has the perfect combination of excellent food, courteous, professional service, and charming ambiance. We prefer dining in the outdoor, enclosed garden patio, but inside is lovely as well. The menu is mostly Italian with selected Bahamian influences and special items - stone crabs and lobster we had last time were... More
