Cafe Matisse if very beautiful, and the staff are marvelous. The food was astronomically expensive. We ordered pasta dishes because they were the least expensive items on the menu, but what actually was served was the size of an appetizer. I ordered spinach and cheese cannelloni, and I was served 3 cannelloni, each one not much bigger than my thumb.... more

Based on reviews here was expecting a more memorable experience. Maybe it was an off night, but the outside patio was closed due to the threat of rain. As a result, the first level was packed, and we were seated outside on the second-level terrace. It was uncomfortably warm and humid - with little air circulation. Better overhead fans may... more

We had an early dinner at Cafe Matisse after spending a rather grueling day in Nassau. Suffice it to say that it made up for the rest of the day. The folks there were all exemplary in their service and friendliness. In fact, it was probably the best restaurant experience we had in the Bahamas. The overall atmosphere is like... more

Group of ten for lunch while in Nassau for the day during a cruise in late October '09. Made reservation a month in advance, although I don't believe it was necessary... there were many tables available inside & on patio. Food was spectacular. I had a risotto with parma ham & asparagus- to die for! Crab appetizer was also beyond... more

Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner and seated immediately. The atmosphere outdoors on the back patio is lovely. You'll be surrounded by candlelight, plants, flowers. We ordered mojitos which were really nice on a hot evening. Our waiter was attentive to details. We had a shrimp appetizer, which was yummy. Our entrees were very good, but don't expect... more

We had a group dinner for our friend's Bachelorette Party at Cafe Matisse. We sat outside in the courtyard and it was incredibly romantic, and pretty with all the outdoor night lighting. The food was very good, we had pastas and pizzas and salads, everyone was very happy with their food. The service was spot-on, and the restaurant inside was... more

We almost overlooked this place as its a little off the beaten path hidden amongst the parliament buildings a few blocks east of downtown. But the food and service were both top notch. Entrees were about $25 - $35 each. The pasta dishes were excellent, the desserts are not to be missed regardless of how full you are! There does appear... more
