Good lunch at Green Parrot

We walked down the main street in Nassau to get away from the tourist area near the piers. Found the Green Parrot a couple of km to the East, near the bridge to Paradise Island. Typical bar food, with some Bahamas specialties. Fish was great, but conch fritters were mostly dough. Nice... read more

Ok outdoor bar. Nice for a beer but nothing special to see. Could be better but stop by if you can but no need to go out of your way.

The Harbor Front has a larger menu than Hurricane Hole and has grilled conch. If on Paradise island its a short walk over the bridge for the grilled conch. If you don't like walking then just head to Hurricane Hole for happy hour and the cracked conch and watch the sunset to top off a great day.

In response to a St. Patrick's Day promotional e-mail, I called The Green Parrot and spoke with a manager. I recounted my last year's disappointment with the advertised Reuben, because it was just a corned beef sandwich - no Swiss cheese, no sauerkraut, no Russian dressing. I was told that the kitchen staff would be advised to do things correctly... More

Perfect location but could be a lot more charming with a bit more effort. Check the chairs before you sit and the tables are not always clean. Food is okay but the service is not, especially at the bar.

The best thing about Green Parrot is the fabulous view! Don't get me wrong, the food is tasty, but not gourmet as this is an outside restaurant/bar. The service is hit or miss. The staff could use some lessons on smiling!

If you're looking for bar food off the beaten path the Green Parrot will fit the bill. It is rustic and situated on the water. The menu is limited to typical bar food, burgers, wings, sandwiches. I expected coconut shrimp to be plump and delicious. Shrimp were small and not a lot of them. Fries were limp and greasy. Not... More

if you want more of an authentic Bahamian experience try one of these bar locations . We drank and ate at the Hurricane Harbor near Atlantis. Its a simple pool side bar with great views of the bay straight forward Bahamian drinks and food , a nice place to chill away from the madding criowd

It was a toss up between 2 or 3 stars, but since neither the wifi nor the bathrooms were working on the day we went, I opted for two. (You could walk along to the marina to use their bathroom.) That aside, the Green Parrot serves pretty much the same old menu you'll find everywhere in the Bahamas cooked in... More
