best place for bahamian cuisine

we go to Goldie's with my wife and friends since approx. 7 years, have never been unhappy, portions are huge, prices are reasonable, waitresses are very polite, waiting time for food is sometimes a bit long, ambience is pretty basic. Would recommend conch fritters, grouper fingers, grilled lobster... read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by our tour guide. The food was amazing!! There were 10 of us that came in to eat. When we arrived, there were probably 4 or 5 other tables in the restaurant that had people at them. It took us almost an hour after we place our order to get our food. The food... More

Great local find. Recommended by the bartender at the daiquiri shack (which is equally great) for the island's best conch salad. It did not disappoint. Great conch salad, scorched conch, and fritters. James spent time talking to us about the history of the restaurant and showed us how the conch is prepared. Great people, great food, great service. Highly recommend... More

I went with some friends to the World relays for a weekend. We were sightseeing one of the days and came across Goldie's Conch House. This place is on point with the Conch Chowder. Bahamas is known for the Conch Chowder and Conch Salad. The staff there are friendly and the owner Goldie himself will sit with you and chat.... More

Love the fish fry and decided to try Goldie's for the first time. It was our last night there and our friends(locals) joined us for dinner. I ordered a peach schnapps and pineapple drink which I have all the time and had to send it back. It tasted awful the first and second time. When our appetizer came (conch fritters)... More

At the entrance to Arawak Cay, Goldie's is a locals' spot that welcomes all, serving delicious seafood in a great atmosphere. The service was good, the staff and patrons friendly. My only minor complaint was the withering heat -- we could only imagine what it must have been like in the kitchen. WARNING: The "Call a Cab" cocktail seriously deserves... More

Our cab driver recommended Goldie's when we told him we were going to the Fish Fry area for dinner. It appears he gets a kickback for bringing tourists there because he walked us in and made sure the staff knew he had brought us there. There were four of us and our order consisted of a salad, chicken fingers with... More

They actually took the Conk out of the shell and showed us how they prepare it. Grilled Conk was great, waitress and Bartender were wonderful. Definitely go back next time in town.

Stopped at Goldie's during an island tour. Conch fritters and sky juice hit the spot. Staff was extremely welcoming and nice. They even took us in the back to see how they clean the conch. Awesome.

This is a fun place. The good was pretty good. Goldie himself was a great guy. The conch fritters were a little too bready for my taste but the rest of the food was good.
