Excellent conch chowder, and a really beautiful place. I would certainly recommend this great local "power broker" place!
Great meal.try the lamb Great bartender/waiter Quaint side street location with outside balcony seating.
A friend and I stopped at this place on a Monday night...seems the place is normally closed on Monday, however, the chef was hosting a dinner party. He sat us down and served us. The meal was excellent, the service perfect. I enjoyed it so much, I took another friend two days later...Meal was better than the first Beef stroganoff.... More
The Dutch/Asian fusion of this restaurant is not very obvious, but the cooking is good and the atmosphere pleasant. My wife had a spicey conch chowder followed by a very meaty lasagne, and I had a huge Greek salad followed by a succulent pork chop. Delicious! Definitely worth seeking out.
Every time I go to Nassau I make sure to have a meal or two at Van Breugel's, it is one of the top restaurants in Nassau, although the prices are remarkably reasonable. The food is French with Thai and Flemish notes to it. Sound unusual? Well perhaps it is but one taste of their Thai soup will convince you... More
Loved our luncheon on the outdoor patio with great help from our waiter,Matthew (they call me Max!) The special soups are wonderful and multi-textured. I had the spicy tomato and it was, but not overwhelming. One of our friends had the best conch chowder any of us had in more than 20 years visiting the Bahamas. (It's not often you... More
Doesn't make sense but it works tremendously. If Freddie, the owner, is there be sure to say hello. But only if you want a big hug, chest bump or peck on the cheek! Best conch chowder on the island and stroganoff is the only thing I get so I can't comment on the other stuff but Deb had the Thai... More
We were directed to this restaurant by our concierge. It's on Charlotte St., a bit off the main drag. As it turned out, the restaurant was hosting a raucous block party in support of a local beer. There was a big party in the street in front of the restaurant, which carried inside. There was loud music and loud local... More
Lovely food, especially the swordfish special. Service in the restaurant was great, in the bar it was a little haphazard. The strange thing about this place is that it doesn't quite seem to know what it wants to be and therefore the menu is a little confused and lacking in appetisers/ starters.
What a surprise! Not what we were expecting in Nassau but so worth it. Outstanding cuisine and a friendly engaging chef! I've eaten in many fine restaurants, but who would think the best swordfish I've ever had would be in the Bahamas? My wife had perfect wiener schnitzel. And the tuna tartar appy was outstanding. Combined with a nice crisp... More
