Preferred by locals - very good food / very slow service

My fiance and I went to Oh Andros tonight after literally every cab driver and hotel employee told us that Oh Andros was better than Twin Brothers. The place seemed to be filled with mostly locals, which is a good sign. The food was very good for the type of food it is (this isn't Nobu) and the... read more

Andros serves great island food in a casual setting, and was a welcome respite from the overpriced fare served in the Atlantis empire. If your idea of Bahamian dining is Nobu or Mesa Grill, then this is not your place. (Both restaurants are great, but visit them in NYC, not here!). But if you have even a small foodie bone... More

After trying all of the places including the well-advertised and highly written about "Twin Brothers", we liked Andros best and went back quite a few times. Everything there was fantastic and it's hard to nail down one favorite. Conch fritters, conch salad and guava duff (dessert) did seem to make recurring appearances though. In case you decide to visit, note... More

The restaurant and staff were pleasant. The portion sizes are enourmous so order carefully. The food is average but very reasonably priced. A good place to go to see the real Bahamas style of food and eating. Drink wise not a very good selection we ended up drinking water as the only wine they had was warm and very sweet!

We were in port for a day with the Carnival Fasination and wanted a break from the cruise food. I had done research prior to the trip and decided that "Oh Andros" for lunch would provide the local flavor we were looking for..we were not disappointed!! The food was very good; we were a group of 6 and the service... More

We were staying at the Sheraton Nassau which has a very limited number of over priced restaurants so we decided to go to the fish fry. Walk outside and grab the #10 bus for a $1.25 each and you're there in a few minutes. It's worth the trip. At Oh Andros we got a chicken dinner with peas and rice,... More

Make no mistake, this place is a tourist trap, but it's a pretty good tourist trap. As the Bahamian equivalent of a diner, the food is decent and the value is high relative to other restaurants this close to Paradise Island/Cruise docks. The conch salad and fritters I had here were my favourite on this trip. The drink list was... More

O Andros is the better of the FISH FRY establishments. When we go to the Bahamas we eat a lot of conch dishes, along with local fresh fish. O Andros did them both great, and cheap. Portions were large and we ate a late lunch and had to then skip dinner. They do a big takeout service to the locals,... More

great atmosphere and a real place to meet the locals. all very friendly and you can have a feww beers in the local bars before eating. I would say the food here is typical of all teh restaurants in the strip, everything is fried. However the conch salads and fritters are good and the food reasonable but do not expect... More

We ate there 3 out of 5 days we were in Nassau. Twice we tried other places because we thought it was silly to not try other places. Both days we didn't go there we regretted it. Their portions are very very generous and their lobsters are at least twice the size of the ones we got at Twin Brothers... More
