By far the best Indian food in Nassau

Forget all the rest, this is the spot! Great food, good service, good beer, what more is there?! Right in town, we love this place.

Ok, so you wouldn't normally think of going to an Indian restaurant in the Bahamas, but trust me this place is worth it. The food is delicious, and service is fast and friendly, and the portions are very large. It's a bit pricy, but the atmosphere and beautiful decor couple with the quality of the food make it worth it.... More

The Taj Mahal restaurant has a monopoly in the Bahamas. They are the only Indian restaurant on the islands! As a result, food quality and customer satisfaction are not at all prioritized. We dined here for dinner and ordered tadka daal (lentils), Bombay aloo (potato), and garlic naan (bread). The daal was watery and flavorless while the aloo had entirely... More

The only Indian restaurant in Bahamas. Overall the food quality of certain dishes were average. But if you are Indian food person, then it leaves no choice but to visit this restaurant. The appetizers were good. Overall I would rate is average.

Taj Mahal is an unexpected find located on a nondescript side street with a dilapidated storefront among the bustle of cruise ship alley in old Nassau. But the seedy description ends there. Once you enter the restaurant, the fragrance of curries, cumin, herbs and spices takes over and blinds you to the seasoned environment that is aged but clean and... More

The Taj was fairly quick to prepare the food which was for take out. The cost was kinda high and while we did enjoy the food I must admit that there were some unpleasant after-effects. Indian food generally tends to loosen my bowels. This time was a little disconcerting. Not sure when or if we will be back.

We have been coming here since it was the 'Green Shutters' . Each year or so we make a trip to Nassau and must always visit this restaurant. The owner (Peter) is very gracious and they have the most amazing selection of single malt scotch we have ever seen. The food is great too - the Onion Bhaji (spelling?) is... More

As good an experience of Indian food as you are going to find in a holiday destination , big portions with Indian beer just like you would find in a regular high street restaurant at home. The setting is a traditional English style pub which was a pleasant surprise, child friendly , the waiters are informative about the menu .... More

I love a good curry and being a British or should I say English national nowadays, I would say curry would be my first food love. Having lived in the Bahamas for close on two years now it is a clear mistake on my part never venturing to have a curry here. I simply ruled the restaurant out thinking that... More
