Very relaxed with a lot of choices

We went here as a recommendation of our cab driver and it is a very causal place to eat many different types of food. We ate at the the very far west restaurant, which had a nice deck to watch the sun set. We had lobster for $24 and a beer for $5. Be prepared the place is dirty and... read more

don't let the scene scare you -- great food and good time. Love the local atmosphere. People are so nice. Great place to get drinks, dinner and dessert from different places without traveling far.

This was our 4th visit to the Bahamas, the fish fry was always recommended. We went for the first time this year on a Wednesday evening. Twin Brothers was recommended by the taxi driver (although he said all the restaurants along the row were good) The waitress was not friendly. I felt like a bother to her. We had the... More

This place is made to look like "Oh wow I want to go there!" but beware, some of the other reviews are telling you to watch yourself and they are right! 1) Never drink the water... you might get typhoid (joking but could happen nasty water!) 2) DO NOT GO WHEN IT'S DARK I'm no sissy but there are some... Attracted us in with free daiquirie shots and an order of conch fritters. We sit and ask for water (which is nasty). We wait for 30 minutes to order food. No service bunch on randos walking in and out making themselves drinks. Once we order, it takes another 30 minutes to get our food. The food is alright. After finishing,... More

I ate at Candies on our trip to Nassau. We chose this place because they had a line of locals buying the conch salad to go…..so assumed they had good food. We sat down and were given smoothie samples. My kids thought they were great and of course I let them order. The alcoholic smoothies are $8.00, so I assumed... More

Candies has the best local food in Nassau, hands down. Free drink samples, free conch fritters(awesome), and overflowing, strong drinks served in coconuts that never disappoint. We tried many places and we kept coming back to Candies for the great service and even better food. The grouper, steamed pork chops and conch salad were prepared with love that only the... More

We really enjoyed the Fish Fry it was a major fun part of our trip to Nassau. We left our cruise ship and took a wonderful walk about a mile or so away from the port. If you follow the beautiful beach line just say no to folks that may approach you if they want to lead you to a... More

We made a special trip to the fish fry and were very disappointed. After being told by everyone to go here and get the wonderful local conch, we did. We paid over $20/person at a picnic type table to get 2 different forms of conch. It was terrible and tasted like rubbery deep fried calamari but not as good. The... More

The food was so not worth the price. We waited 45 minutes for fish and lobster and when we finally got our food the lobster was way over cooked and I found 3 bones in my mahi mahi filet. I cook all the time and there is no way it would have taken me 45 min to cook what we... More
