Delightful surroundings and reasonable prices (for St. John island!)

The Caneel Beach Bar and Grill is a great place to stop if you just want to do a quick visit of the Caneel Bay resort. You can avoid the $20 parking if you stop and spend at least $20. The lunch menu had good options for about $15, both salads and sandwiches. Beautiful outdoor venue with good... read more

We had a lovely sushi dinner! The view is amazing and the food was delicious, but the excellent service is what made our night. Lodi was our waitress and she made our experience memorable. Not only was she prompt and courteous, she took the time to laugh, tell stories and offer a little bit of who she is. We will... More

The bartenders work really hard and do a good job here. I fell in love with a new drink the Lime D'Coco. Food was decent also.

Our innkeepers (Garden by the Sea) told us that the Caneel Beach bar was preparing sushi--and that it was GOOD! We didn't need to hear anymore. We went after a day at the beach--only to find that they stopped serving sushi at 3 pm, and wouldn't resume until 6 pm. Sniff--we had excellent sandwiches washed down with a few Virgin... More

Excellent food, great selection, excellent service, reasonable prices, beautiful location, a trip to St John is not complete without eating at Caneel Bay. My wife says it has the best "pain killer" drink. Highly recommend

Aside from the hostess it was very polite and prompt, the service was not so good. However, the sunset views were to die for, and the beer was cold.

Having been here before, we arrived a few minutes before the restaurant was open for lunch, and settled into an umbrella shaded space, with a spectacular Caribbean view, on the upper deck. At restaurant opening, our server approached cautiously: "Good morning!" we said in Caribbean custom. "How are you today?" Server broke into a lovely broad smile and chatted with... More

We are 4 couples staying in a villa on St John. We wanted to see the resort and have lunch at the grill. I should have known something was wrong right away when I went up to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks from a bored robotic bartender. No greeting or smile. We waited about 45 minutes to...
