Delicious West Indies food

We tried this place once, and really enjoyed it. It is much better food than ALL of the higher end non-local restaurants on the island, in our opinion. We tried: -Goat Curry: compared to the others we had on the island, this had more sauce which we liked. It was a bit more viscous and I found it... read more

We were taken here by a dear local friend and we were very pleased. We had Curried Goat, Curry Roti Chicken, Jerk Chicken, and Salt Fish. The sides were delicious as well as all of our entrees. We were not disappointed at all.

My family and I ended up going here twice for lunch because we loved the food and the owner so much. Great taste of local cuisine with great service. I had the vegetarian platter both days and my family had a sampling of fish as well as chicken. All cooked perfectly and so tasty! We also saw lots of locals... More

Are lunch there. Had kingfish with veggies and fried plantain. Not fancy but clean with attentive service. Unpretentious local ambience.

This is a very friendly place in Cruz Bay. The owners/chef come from Dominica, and this is the real thing. We had kingfish creole and shrimp creole, each with five sides, including fungi (had never tasted before). Everything was excellent, but avoid the white wine, and buy a beer instead.

We visited Sogo's for the first time for lunch last week. The owners are sweet, hard working people and they are really welcoming. We ordered the Kingfish special and it was good.

This place had really good local food - with local ingredients - and such a friendly atmosphere. We felt more like honored guests than tourists.

We try to eat local food when we travel. Sogo"s is on a side street in Cruz Bay. It looks like it might be a bit warm inside but they have plenty of fans running and it was quite comfortable. My husband had the goat stew and I had a chicken special. Both were very good. Price was great and... More

Not gourmet but affordable and very tasty home cooked meals. Even my kids were happy with the selections. I like that there was a little bit of everything on my plate. We were the only diners there for a late lunch so that didn't make us want to linger for long but the food was good and was a great... More

We go to Sogo's each time we come to St. John and it is great as always. This time my wife had the fried chicken--about the best we have ever had (except for Mrs. Wilkes' in Savannah). We have arranged for a take out order for this wonderful chicken for our final meal here on Friday before heading home. Again,... More
