Description: Serving Funky Southeast Asian Inspired Cuisine! We serve our food in an unconventional manner, where there are no appetizers or entrees. The food comes out of the kitchen as it is prepared by the Chef. Therefore, we recommend ordering several dishes off of the menu and encourage sharing. Our cuisine is made up of locally sourced ingredients when available. Our flavor profiles are comprised of spice, sweet, sour, salty, and savory. Our cocktails are just as flavorful and as interesting as our cuisine. All of our wines were sourced from Michael Skurnik Wines and were hand-picked by Michael himself. The wines were selected to complement the wide variety of flavors in our cuisine and they were shipped in temperature controlled containers to ensure the integrity of the wines. We believe this style of dining creates an intimate, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. We serve sophisticated dishes in an unpretentious manner. If you are a diner looking for a traditional dining experience, there are lots of other great restaurants on island, come in for a drink and we'll recommend a few.Live well and be happy!

My friend and I loved stopping by Fatty Crab our first evening on the island. They were just opening for dinner and welcomed us with friendly service and fabulous dishes, including fried fish sliders and sushi rolls. The fresh cuisine was flavorful and the ambiance relaxing - who could ask for more?

The Fatty Crab is a great place to belly-up and eat your fill. We were there as a group of friends and the food was an interesting fusion of Asian, Caribbean & Hispanic. Our entire group found the offerings to be superb and the portion size to be adequate without being glutinous. The drinks were interesting and well thought through.... More

Watermelon and pork entree was delicious. Asian fusion food. Relaxed atmosphere. Sit outside. Service friendly.

Even though there is a Fatty Crab in the city where I live, I haven't been to it and was looking forward to trying it somewhere a little more chill. Fatty Crab in Cruz Bay, St. John was just right. Fabulous food on a beautiful island. Uncrowded, friendly service. Just a great experience and a must-have if you are in... More

The food was amazing - one of the best on the island in my humble opinion. I had the Indonesian Fried Rice which has shrimp, pork, chicken - nice smoke underneath, with deep spiciness that is rich and deep, without being too hot. Dish of the Night was freshly caught Wahoo with a lovely garlic rice noodle base and a... More

There was nothing to dislike about this place....apparently some of the locals said the ownership had changed recently, and although I have no idea what is was like before the change, it is great now! The staff was amazing, Brad was by far our favorite (bar) along with Brandon (front of house) and Moe (executive Chef)! Everyone was so knowledgable... More

Fatty Crab was our favorite dinner out in a week of restaurants on Saint John. The chef is creative and has flavor pouring out of all of the dishes. I loved the family style servings as it allowed us to taste every plate on the table. Fantastic food and a fun atmosphere!

Not your typical St John menu. Not for everyone. I love it, the kids hate it....and my kids are adventurous eaters.

We have eaten at the Fatty Crab no less than 20 times as STJ is like our second home. The last trip we ate there 4 times in a 8 day period. We love the staff, the menu, wine list and the music. Let's face it service in islands is not so good but it's like your NYC or Chicago.... More
