The title pretty much sums up how we discovered Candi's, walking up the hill to the Starfish Market we smelled BBQ, real BBQ as we came around a corner. I'll tell you, the place is not much to look at, we did, and decided we'd pass. Appearances are deceiving, folks. Coming back from the market, we were hungry, and again,... More

My husband and I each got different meals and took them back to our rental so we could try each others meal. I had chicken, plantains and slaw, my husband had ribs, rice and mac and cheese. All the food was delicious. I do think the ribs were a bit better than the chicken. We would have gone again, but... More

First off, I'd agree that Candi's is now the place to go in Cruz Bay for local BBQ. Joe's used to be our choice but Candi has stolen us away. We are regulars to St. John and have noticed Candi's on our way in and out of town but it is very easy to miss. So, you do need to... More

Don't let the enticing smell of barbecue lure you into this dive. We ordered dinner for four and the dishes ranged from barely edible to disgusting. The sauce was good, but the meat was of incredibly poor quality and the fish was questionable. Stick to enjoying the cooking aroma while you drive by (quickly)!

We got take out tonight and had a variety of things. You must try the BarBQ shrimp....yummiest! Ribs and Cole slaw were really good as were the plantains. Chicken is good, but they were mostly sold out of that. My vote would be for the shrimp.

If you can find this place try it. Hard to find if you don't know where it is. Ask the locals they know where it is and will get you there. Chicken and ribs wonderful!

We ate here one night, service was very good, food was good, not great. Sides were the best part of the meal. Ribs tend to be flavorful, but fatty. Chicken was good. This is a very simple place with not much seating. Close to the car barge, but a bit of a walk from downtown. GO HERE versus Joe's BBQ... More

Went to Candi's for lunch. It took a while to get our food since she makes everything to order. Everything came out hot. The ribs were delicious, my fish was very good, and Candi's sauce is excellent. We had rice and peas, and plantains as our sides, and both were absolutely delicious. The ambience is lacking, since it is basically... More

This place is good, one of the best bbq in the island. It was voted as the best in 2013. The sauce is great but I have to say the meat could be better. I think the issue is that they don't leave it long enough. In the US there is much much better BBQ, but for the islands this... More

Frankly, many other restaurants in Cruz Bay have pretty bland food, and it seems to be difficult to find real Caribbean flavors. But Candi's gave us what we were looking for. We got the chicken and ribs platter, rice and peas, cole slaw and fried plantains. We ate every last bit of all of it and wished we had room... More
