Nice place in Mongoose Junction!

We dropped into this restaurant for an early dinner before catching the ferry back to Red Hook. A nice surprise. We were seated on the balcony which was very pleasant. Just the right mix of island food and cool vibe. Six of us had dinner and service was very attentive.

One of the first places we stopped at on this trip to STJ. Admittedly it was during an off peak time, but the servers were great (one young guy was from our small home town, in fact) Drinks were good, food was good. I had the Jerk Chicken Pasta and was not disappointed. Very tasty. We went back a second... More

Nice dinner. The Fire Roasted Eggplant Dip was delicious. We had the Wedge salad and the Green Goddess Dressing was outstanding and a nice change of pace from the usual Blue Cheese. The Jerk Chicken Pasta was very, very spicy......and I like heat. Don't know if that was the normal spice level or not but if it is, enjoy the... More

We met the owner while shopping in Mongoose Junction; we bought a couple bottles of their hot sauce, he gave a tour of the restaurant before it opened, and we decided to come back later in the week for dinner. It looked gorgeous, and the little balcony had room for a party of four. We came back Friday night and... More

My party of 5 adults visited Virgin Fire fairly early in the evening, and despite the open air, it was roasting. The air was not moving, and it was quite uncomfortable. We arrived near the end of Happy Hour and got excellent prices on our appetizers, which were decent. We also ordered dinner. The fish in the fish and chips... More

Friendly bartender, fantastic two guys playing jazz - think it was a Monday night. The only issue I have with this place is that it always seems to be hot as an oven. I know the name is Virgin Fire, but they could do with some A/C. Good appetizers.

Hi Janet Thanks for the review and glad you enjoyed. If you like things a bit cooler, may I suggest that next time ask for a table on the balcony? Always a bit cooler out there. It is an open air restaurant, and we're working on ways to improve this. Thanks for the visit and the notes. Hope to see... More

We enjoyed a nice evening here with a fun little band playing, good drinks and conversation. Lots of locals seem to go here and everyone knows each other. Soon you become a "local" too.

Great restaurant to get away from the usual beach bars. Good food, good entertainment, great atmosphere. We would go back!
