High hopes not met

Food was mediocre. Chain restaurants have better food. Server was not attentive. Did not bring a glass for a bottled beer after being asked. Totally overrated

We decided to have dinner here after having lunch at a cafe owned by the same people. The food is very good; the menu varied enough to cover the appetites of both small and large groups. The service is quick by island standards. The place fills up, so make reservations or get there early. None of the items we ordered... More

One night we couldn't get a table at Sun Dog Cafe so we went to Virgin Fire. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice, the servers are very pleasant and the seating comfortable. Service was slow and the food left a bit to be desired. We had the spring rolls as a starter. They were over cooked and very spicy.... More

Some friends and I stopped in last night for some appetizers and drinks. The bartender Eric was on his "A" game! He gave us some app suggestions that we loved and then made us a drink from his home town called the Orange Crush. It was awesome!! The craziest part was it was only his first night working there!!! Good... More

The restaurant lacks atmosphere, and the food was mediocre as was the service.Average burgers and ribs.

Thanks for the visit, sorry we did not meet your expectations, but I am really have a hard time understanding the review. The atmosphere in Virgin Fire contains native stone walls, a handcrafted mahogany and purple heart bar, a genuine parquet floor, an abundance of local art by one of St. John's most recognized artists, a theater quality sound system... The atmosphere at Virgin Fire reminded us of nice restaurants state side, we felt at home. The staff was friendly and accommodating both times we dined here. Kara is a wonderful server, she gave us some great hiking tips for our daily excursions around the island. She remembered us when we came back and asked if we had tried any... More

We came here for dinner one evening. I got the Steak (over au gratin potatoes) and it was delicious. The sauce over the steak was amazing and I couldn't get enough. It was a generous portion that left me full and satisfied! The staff was friendly. I'd highly recommend Virgin Fire!

My mom and I stopped by here for happy hour to have a drink after being at the beach all day and share some appetizers. You have to sit at the bar to take advantage of the half price appetizers. So we moved from the outside tables to the bar. Had painkillers, crispy spring rolls and virgin fire fries. Everything... More

Large menu with a variety of options which is a bit of a rarity in St. John. Food prices were appropriate. All meals and appetizers had were excellent. Some food enjoyed by our party included bacon mac n cheese, coconut shrimp, mahi mahi, cajun flatbread, artichoke hearts, conch fritters, and burgers. We got reservations the day before in order to... More
