A bartender at a Mexican restaurant should know first and foremost how to make a margarita, or so you would think. We came for the margarita and left before the food could disappoint us as much as the service and drink.

Stopped in for appetizers while waiting for our boat back to St. Thomas. The other nearby shops were closed so we gave Phil's a try. Nice little shop. The chicken tortilla soup was, well, interesting, edible and had a nice taste but bore no relation to the tortilla soups of the southwest. The conch fritters, on the other hand, were... More

Our group ate here twice because it was so fresh and so tasty. Both nights we had great service from our waiters. If you're in the mood for Mexican, this is the place to go! We didn't have dessert, so I cannot comment on that. We did have fajitas, and guac, and salad, and everything was delicious. Right near an... More

Not bad for a quick lunch- drinks and food were typical tourist fair- staff were friendly for a really busy night - good for filling, basic food

Really surprised to see how few seats there are here. If you want to eat and stay at the restaurant, reservations are a must. Food was really good and we come from great Mexican food territory. Quesadilla, steak, was, hands-down the favorite of our group. The first night we were there we sat at the bar (no other seating available... More

We love Margarita Phil's! They have the best Mango Margarita's and Seafood Enchiladas! It's a small restaurant (maybe seats 18-20 on the patio), so if you want to sit on the patio, make your reservations early.

Everything is made fresh while you wait, so sit back and relax on island time and enjoy a tasty jumbo margarita. Charles, the chef, makes delicious sauces so every dish is fabulous. We will be back!

The food here is so good we went for dinner 3 times in our 10 night stay! Not only great Mexican for St. John but some of the best we have had in the States as well. The giant margaritas are killer, and even better you can get some to go as you stroll in downtown Cruz Bay. The waiters... More

Drinks were good but the food was average. For what turned out to be one of our most expensive meals during our stay, I wasn't impressed.

This was probably our least favorite restaurant on the island.......if you eat here, my recommendation would be to eat on the patio and drink something other than a margarita! Cons~The inside of the restaurant is very small with only a few tables. The tiny, cramped, coed bathroom is right next to one of the tables, which I found distasteful. The... More
