Sun Dog Cafe is a great casual dining option, and home to the Gecko Gazebo, our open air bar overlooking the gracious center courtyard of Mongoose Junction. A New York Times Travel and Leisure Pick for St. John, we serve lunch daily, dinner on weekdays, and brunch on Sunday in season. Don't Miss the Sunday Night Jam, from 7-10 pm weekly, a great musical event with local and visiting talent. Welcome!

Thanks and so glad you enjoyed. The Sunday Night Jam is something we've been doing for about 9 years and attracts a variety or local and visiting musical talent. We have developed a number of people who serve as a house band, and encourage players to do songs with each other without rehearsal, which keeps everyone on their toes. Once... More

Sat at the bar and had a few beers while my wife shopped. Had the opportunity to chat with a few locals which was interesting. The bartender was knee deep in the Vodka early afternoon and as a result I witnessed at least four people come up to order food but after waiting on him to socialize with others they... More

Hi Greg Thanks for the review, glad you generally enjoyed. I have observed that certain bartenders get a little too enthusiastic engaging guests and entertaining them, instead of focusing on arriving guests. Thanks for the heads up and for raising our awareness on the issue. Hope to see you again soon Michael SDC Proprietor More

We spent a week on St John in early September when many of the restaurants were closed. We ended up eating lunch here every day of our trip. Parking was easy, the location was great and the food and service were wonderful.

Prior to our trip, we googled "best fish tacos on St. John" and found that the Sun Dog Cafe was the place to go. Wow, were they right! The fish tacos were awesome - so fresh and they are not skimpy on the fish. My son ordered a burger and is still talking about how it was the best burger... More

Picture a tiny prep building in Mongoose Junction with some tables between shops. Who would think this would be a great place to eat? Last year, after leaving Francis Bay, we decided to stop in Mongoose Junction. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. Fantastic fish tacos! Friendly waitress. So great, in fact, that we made sure... More
