We did not eat a meal but just dessert. I had the key lime pie (an individual mini pie) and my husband enjoyed a smoothie. We liked the pie so much that we went back and had another one on a different evening. The" burrito that ate Cruz Bay" looked very good and people seemed to be enjoying their food.... More

We make a point of eating at Sun Dog Cafe each time we come to St. John. We particularly love the fish tacos. Very friendly and accommodating wait staff too.

You can't really ask for much more than that. We showed up at around 1:15pm and there was an empty table available right away. Our waitress was friendly and efficient getting our orders and putting the food/drinks on the table. I had the chicken roti which I thought was very good, a lot of flavor and good chicken/potato/veggie balance. Coconut... More

Hi Paul Thanks for the positive review, good notes and glad you enjoyed. On the beer selection, there are a very limited number of brands being brought into the territory, and we have the most popular of those.... Paradise ain't perfect, but we do the best we can Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon Michael SDC... More

We picked the location because of the atmosphere and ambience. The service and the food brought us back more than once in our short time on the island. We loved the food. The iced tea wasn't great (maybe if they used another brand of tea bags?). But everything else was excellent.

Thanks so much for the very positive review-- so glad you enjoyed. And thanks for the tip on the iced tea-- we are actually in the process of testing new brands and methods for making it great. Hope to see you again soon, Michael, SDC Proprietor More

The first time i went, they didnt have fruit, forgot my order, and didnt bring my whole order. I ended up getting mac and cheese and it was nasty. The second time, I ordered pizza garlic dips and they brought me kids pizza The third time, i didnt get a menu as my whole family did, and then they took... More

Wow. So genuinely sorry you didn't enjoy. Some of the information in the review is a little confusing to me, though. We don't have fruit on the menu. The mac and cheese is a side order; sorry you didn't enjoy. We don't have "garlic pizza dips" on the menu, but do have a side order of "garlic pizza points" and... More

we have been going to st. john for years and have walked past the Sun Dog many times. This year, we finally decided to give it a try and what a fabulous experience! The food was outstanding and Tina, our waitress was like visiting a good friend. This is a MUST DO while visiting St. John and Mongoose Junction. Pat... More

I read great reviews of this restaurant and decided to have dinner one night of our vacation. The food was outstanding. The ingredients used were fresh and my boyfriend and I were happy with our selections. I had the Shrimp Angela and he had the Jerk Chicken quesadillas. The service was mediocre, at best. We decided to dine at the... More

Thanks so much for the review and glad you enjoyed the food. I did a little research on what occurred with the bartender, and was told that she had absented herself to assist with other guests in the dining area. As a result of your comments, though, we will make sure that the bartender communicates this with the guests in... More

When you walk up to Sun Dog you might think burgers, fingers and fries, but this cool outdoor cafe's dishes are fresh, tasty, "clever" and presented beautifully. The wait staff are pleasant and professional. The setting in Mongoose Junction is "cool romantic!! It's a DON'T MISS while on St. John.

This was our second trip to St. John. We were looking for dinner ideas in Cruz Bay and came across reviews for the Sun Dog Cafe. All 3 of us loved our meals. Pizza was great. Good crust, cheese and sauce, generous with the toppings. Chicken Roti was excellent. Our son had the burger and loved it. Quick, friendly service.... More
