Better than it looks!

We walked by this spot many times before we checked it out one evening for dinner. Glad we did. Not only is atmosphere more cozy at night but the food and service were super. Delicious conch fritters and snapper with risotto.

The Fish Trap also has a Fish Market and it's an awesome place to buy fresh fish! We buy all of our fish here to take it back to cook in our villa. Check it out!

Our family of 4 had a delicious fresh fish dinner at the The Fish Trap. We enjoyed our fish so much that we returned to their market the next day and then the next to buy their fresh, local fish to grill at our villa. We especially appreciated the helpful advice of the fishmonger woman behind the counter at the... More

The mussels in garlic sauce were great and the 5 nice size blacken shrimp were wonderful. These are both appetizers but just right for dinner. The shrimp even came with slaw which was also very good. My husband had the fish and chips and he said they were very good as well. They also came with slaw and fries. For... More

This restaurant is tucked away in Cruz Bay. It does not have a water view but has a nice island atmosphere and the food is outstanding. It was so good that we along with another couple went twice. We each ordered a different fish and everyone loved their meal. The seared tuna was fab. The corvina, wahoo and mahi were... More

Be sure to visit the Fish Trap if you are on St. John. This is a family owned restaurant that has been in Cruz Bay for a couple of generations. Our favorite item on the menu is a whole red snapper that is flash fried and covered with teriyaki vegetables. So good! Their seafood chowder is also good, and the... More

The price per pound will take your breath away but the quality, variety and freshness are great. Mahi, Tuna, Swordfish, etc. always available.

Great dishes, plenty to offer. Only downside is the ambience -- if you are looking for a view of the sea you won't find it here

We went to The Fish Trap for Dinner one evening and while it was very expensive (think $100/person w/wine and tip), it was also very good. Their chef has an artistic flair for creative presentation of the appetizers, as the Ponzu Tuna was served somewhat taco-style.

Was really looking forward to this place due to solid reviews, but I was disappointed. Food was okay, atmosphere was quite touristy, and price tag was more expensive than warranted. There are plenty of other good restaurants on St. John, so I would not recommend it.
