This may have been because we had chosen to eat pretty early that evening after having been out and about all day. There was only one other table occupied at the time. Freshest seafood yet, and loved the atmosphere.

My wife and I just completed a wonderful 8 day vacation on St. John with two other couples and had the pleasue of buying fresh fish to BBQ from their fish market one night, and having a great dinner at the restaurant another night. Freindly owners, reasonable prices, excellent staff and the setting is island comfortable. Erin and Lisa made... More

Fresh fish, great salads, decent wine and good beer selection. What more could we ask for. It is the only restaurant that we went back to in our 10 days.

We went there on our first night on the island and had quick service and very good food. The staff was friendly and it's in a good location downtown. It's a bit pricey but so are most places on the island.

My 19-year-old daughter and I ate dinner at the Fish Trap several times during our week in Cruz Bay. It was unfailingly excellent. Imaginative, perfectly cooked fish dishes, and the nicest owners/staff in the world. Crab-crusted corvina on a Seafood Cream Sauce; Asian Clay Hot Pot with Mahi-Mahi, Shrimp, Clams, and Vegetables in a curry, lemon grass and coconut broth;... More

Fresh fish at its finest, There were 6 of us and we all got something different and all very impressive. The parmesean crusted wahoo was amazing, Mahi special was excellent. My husband got chicken alfredo and passed it around the table as we all thought it was the best we had ever tasted. My son had steak and it was... More

The food and the service at The Fish Trap is excellent! Lisa and her husband who own the restaurant are a pleasure to deal with. He is the chef and the recipes he creates with different kinds of fish are always creative and excellent. I ordered the swordfish with a lobster salsa. It was too die for. I could have... More

My wife and I had been planning on going to a different restaurant, but seeing that it was closed we wandered around Cruz Bay until we stumbled on the fish trap. We ordered the wahoo with mashed potatoes and a salad with mahi. Both were very good. The service was very friendly and we were asked by numerous people from... More

Crazy! Used to be able to get swordfish at most restaurants on St John. Am SO GLAD I found an excellent cut of swordfish at The Fish Trap. Prepared to order, and tasty to the last morsel. Thank you!!

When I am in St. John I expect more than just food for my dinner experience. Although recommended by the locals (who probably take the spectacular island views for granted) we were disappointed that that a seafood restaurant did not have have an ocean view. We found the food and prices only average. When we went to their store to... More
