The food and the service at The Fish Trap is excellent! Lisa and her husband who own the restaurant are a pleasure to deal with. He is the chef and the recipes he creates with different kinds of fish are always creative and excellent. I ordered the swordfish with a lobster salsa. It was too die for. I could have... More

My wife and I had been planning on going to a different restaurant, but seeing that it was closed we wandered around Cruz Bay until we stumbled on the fish trap. We ordered the wahoo with mashed potatoes and a salad with mahi. Both were very good. The service was very friendly and we were asked by numerous people from... More

Crazy! Used to be able to get swordfish at most restaurants on St John. Am SO GLAD I found an excellent cut of swordfish at The Fish Trap. Prepared to order, and tasty to the last morsel. Thank you!!

When I am in St. John I expect more than just food for my dinner experience. Although recommended by the locals (who probably take the spectacular island views for granted) we were disappointed that that a seafood restaurant did not have have an ocean view. We found the food and prices only average. When we went to their store to... More

Hands down my husband's favorite meal in St. John is the whole red snapper prepared at the Fish Trap. It is delicious! Before you know it, you have eaten the whole thing. The seafood chowder at the restaurant is also delicious. Highly recommended!

My wife and I ate dinner here June 9th and we really enjoyed our experience. Free parking (limited spots) right in front of restaurant. Comfortable, shaded open air seating. Cool even with very little breeze. And no bugs. (How do they do it?) Our waiter (Wilson? - a tall college student looking young man with dark hair) provided the best... More

My friends and I had dinner last night at Fish Traps and it was the best meal we had had in St. John. I had one of the daily specials, which was sautéed snapper in tomato with mussels in a white wine and butter sauce on mushroom risotto. The fish was cooked perfectly and the mussels on top were fabulous.... More

We went in with a large group of 19 people for dinner. They accommodated us right away and even gave us two servers to make sure we were all taken care of. They even let us do separate checks. The food was fantastic. Fresh and delicious. A lot of daily specials as well as early bird specials. Definitely one of... More

You want good seafood at a great price and in a good location. Try the Fish Trap. Is it the best atmosphere? No. Don't misunderstand---it is a nice place, but not where you would celebrate an anniversary. But if you are in St. John, plan on having one of your dinners at the Fish Trap. The "new owners" are not... More

Ate Mahi Mahi sandwiches after a starter of conch fritters. Both were delicious! Simple but well-prepared and served with a hot sauce (Trinidad style is what the owner told us) that was worth buying for home! We returned to try some of the more interesting things on the menu but they were closed on Mondays. Bummer! We especially were upset... More
