We went here after a trip to salt pond. It is worth the drive from Cruz Bay. We have grouper tacos and a lobster roll. Both were incredible. Lobster roll had a vinegar base instead of mayonnaise. I had a pretty good view as well. The owner cooks in a shack and you eat under a tarp. Service was good... More

We researched this place on TripAdvisor before our vacation. Glad we made the effort to eat here. It is down by the Salt Pond on St. John. We almost drove right by it - it's right off the road. The Tourist Trap is literally a little shack, just big enough for one person (Larry) to fix the grub. There are... More

Larry is the owner and very passionate and visible. He'll prepare you the best lunch or happy hour food you can imagine. Love's Pull Pork Sandwich is "to die for" per my husband. I had the fish taco and was incredibly happy. The place has an awesome St. John outside bar feel and the drinks are just as delicious as... More

Be sure to add The Tourist Trap to your list of things to do while visiting St. John. It is located on the east side of the island and caters to an eclectic crowd who understands the value of comradery with warm spirited locals. Any negative reviewers clearly do not "get" how special The Tourist Trap atmosphere really is, nor... More

We happened upon Tourist Trap by reccommendation of a local resident. Larry & Moe were warm, friendly, gave great service and really really good food. It was one of the best meals we had while on the Island and also the least expensive. It is a hop, skip and a jump from Salt Pond Bay. May for a great day... More

Don't drive past The Tourist Trap. Check out the photos here so you know what to expect. Lawn chairs, tables and canopies, nothing fancy but this adds to the charm. Larry (owner, chef) can make a mean lobster roll, grouper taco, pulled pork nachos, and anything else on the menu. He has some great waitresses, Mary, Laura and Mo, who... More

I didn't find any of the things others had said in their reviews to be accurate. The food was mediocre at best. More

The place to stop for a cold beer or frozen drink after baking in the sun at Salt Pond (no shade!) or Lamshure---that should hold ya over till ya get to Cruz Bay. Larry's a good guy--originator of "Drink Right, Drive Left" More

We never miss going to the Tourist Trap when we are on St. John! The food is great and so is the owner Larry! He makes everything himself. My personal is his lobster roll. More

I'm not one for superlatives, but this place was absolutely delicious. On a dry hill surrounded by brush and cactus are several tables, surrounded by the famous "white plastic" chair now found in every corner of the world, and covered by the inclement rain tents used at your local swap meet. I wasn't expecting much and upon arrival, took one... More
