Very clean, friendly, great food.

We had conch fritters, Johny Cake and beers today at Vie's on the East End. It is a long drive with hazards like a large heard of sheep ding chased down the road by a young donkey, but it was well worth the trip. The views are beautiful, the atmosphere is very low key and Vie's is a very nice... read more

Stopped by for lunch while exploring the East End and loved it. The menu was limited but I had the fried chicken with rice and beans and of course the local "johnny cake". It was similar to fried dough but without the sugar - you add honey to taste. The portions were large and the prices reasonable at $12. Didn't... More

We were just meandering through St. John and found this restaurant at the end of Hwy. 10. It was fantastic! They tell you up front it will be a bit of a wait for your food, but it is well worth it. They have a nice beach across the road and the cleanest outdoor toilet I've ever seen.

A bit of a drive from Coral Bay, but enjoy the views as you reach the eastern part of St. John. Garlic chicken was a hit with our family, and by far the best johnny cakes we had. We did not pay the fee for the beach, but heard from a local it was nice and quiet.

If you like real local food and a road side shack this is your happy place! It is well worth the ride out to the east end of the island. Vie and her family own the beach located directly across the street from the shack. It does make for a nice day if you have the time. An early day... More

Authentic West Indian food cooked by Jasmine (Vie's daughter). The restaurant has been in the family for decades and is just 100 feet from the most beautiful beach we found in St. John. They are closed Sunday and Monday but open 9-5 the other days!

We made a day trip to the east end of the island and had a wonderful day at Vie's beach. We ordered the garlic chicken and loved it! Everything was freshly prepared and the people running the snack shack were very friendly. We enjoyed eating on the beach and would recommend this as a great day trip. Well worth the... More

Worth the ride out to the east end of St. John. Vie's has amazing fried chicken, rice with meat sauce (my fave) and johnny cakes. She was very pleasant as was her son (or grandson, not sure). Go early though, we arrived around 10:30 AM and placed our order, came back from the beach at 1 pm and ate or... More

Had dinner here on our last day on St. John. It had been recommended by a friend and I saw mentions of it everywhere (it was the only restaurant mentioned in the guidebook, "Off the Beaten Track", and was in several other tourist brochures as well). I was not disappointed! The food is all made-to-order and the chicken came out... More

Vie's is well worth the short drive from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay, on St. John, USVI. It's a cute, little "shack" that has "the best" food on the island! Everybody knows Vie! She is well known for her conch fritters that are deep fried to a golden brown and are served with a little bit of slaw that is... More
