This meal was our first on St. John and was fantastic. Service was friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent. We had the langoustine to start and the mahi and yellowtail entrees. Both entrees were amazingly fresh although my wife's mahi was the clear winner by a long run. Pricey but very good.

Get the Mussels! If you love mussels they are the best I have had. The sauce is fantastic and with some bread to soak it up it could have been my whole meal:-) But that said do not miss some of the other amazing offerings on the menu - the fish is excellent!

Great last dinner on vacation. Sangria was awesome, and the outdoor patio was the perfect spot. It was a little loud from the concert happening close by, but we enjoyed the people watching. Do note that the 1st and 2nd portions are more tapas/appetizer size--I was a bit worried that my Dad didn't get enough to eat, but after dessert,... More

6th time to La Tapa since 2009 - always an excellent dinner on St John. Went on a Tuesday and enjoyed jazz during dinner. We have always eaten on the street - this time, we scored the "private" table for 2 on the far right (when facing La Tapa). Since this was the day after our 30th anniversary, then surprised... More

The food is outstanding, the wait staff is incredibly knowledgable and professional for the island, and the atmosphere is authentic Spain.

We dined here on our last night on the island. There were 4 of us in our party. The waitress was very helpful in selecting our food choices. If you haven't had tapas before, then I would read up on it so you know what you are getting into. The food was creative and delicious. Like many of the restaurants... More

We ate at La Tapa for the 3rd time and the food was excellent again. I suggest making reservations because they can be quite busy. We've always enjoyed their food and our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything. We ordered the cheese plate and he knew every cheese...the name, where it came from, how it tasted etc. The cheese plate... More

Great food, excellent service and live music the night we stopped by. No bay views but it's a fun atmosphere. Like most places on the island, wonderful hospitality. Nice way to end a beautiful day!!

Have visited St John for 30 years. Have dined at La Tapa during our annual visit, every year since it opened. Food is always very fresh, somewhat creative, but very expensive relative to the quality. Service is average and if they are busy, which is often, it can be spotty. However, the escargot and martinis are absolutely perfect, every time.... More

La Tapa is certainly a treat for us! My wife treated my for my birthday and it's certainly at the top of my St. John list. Best seafood I've had on St. John. Mahi was so cooked so perfectly I can't even begin to describe how they do it! Nor do I care as long as they keep doing it,... More
