A Local Favorite for Takeout

Café Roma has good food at good prices thus is a local favorite, especially for takeout. We like the Brushcetta Italian & Garlic Toast with Mozzarella Cheese for apps, and the Rajun Cajun and Penne ala Vodka w/hot Italian sausage for pasta. Heard the pizza is great too. Portion sizes are nice, and... read more

The salad was prepared with tomatoes too hard to cut with a knife, the appetizer floated in grease, and the entree (simple pasta marinara) had an unusual and unpleasant taste. Wife's drink must have been nearly pure TripleSec. Only my gin and tonic was up to par. Waiter did his best.

Just returned from my honeymoon in St. John and I feel compelled to write a review for this gem of an Italian restaurant. We stayed at the Westin and Cafe Roma wasn't recommended to us, but we did hear about it from a gentleman on one of our cab rides. His endorsement was so enthusiastic we decided to try it,... More

The food is incredible and the portions are large! My husband and I normally eat there a couple of times while we are on St. John's.

We ate here after not being able to get a table downstairs at the Longboard. This place is cute and friendly and the food is good. The portions are very large! We have had similar Italian dinners that cost a lot more. They serve good wine too. Very pleasant atmosphere after the bustle downstairs.

Café Roma is our favorite restaurant on St. John that we've been going to for the past five years, before and after the fire. The food is excellent and we always eat so much that we joke it puts us in a "Roma Coma". Highly recommend the Gorgonzola and artichoke hearts appetizer and the Three cheese & seafood manicotti entrée.... More

Always eat at Roma's when visiting the island and this trip was not exception to that rule. This little upstairs place is always good and priced well for this island - The competition is good here on the island and or you might find a more inspiring Italian meal at Davito but your price point goes up probably 30% and... We waited an hour for a table even though we had called and been told that the wait would not be long... one hour! Food was slow to come up and one entry, eggplant parmigiano, was unusual. When the server was questioned, she indicated that they had had a "mishap" in the kitchen and that the dish was actually veal!!!!... More
