Have always make a bee line to eat here as its popular, good food and reasonable pricing in a great location. However recently called in for a Breakfast en route to Royal Welsh show, welcomed by lovely ambiance of bacon cooking and happy faces of diners inside and out in their luscious gardens, however place was only 1/4 full I'd... Sometimes you can be faced with regret when going back to a place where you once had a good meal. This was our Fifth visit over the last 5 years and we were not disappointed. A roadside location makes for an easy find for all manner of travellers. Not off the beaten track but nestled in glorious countryside giving that... More

The Lodge is located in a country setting with outdoor seating for a drink on nice days. We ate dinner in the bar as it is available to walk ins and it was necessary to book if you wanted to dine in the bistro. The bar has a nice atmosphere and we made sure we were there early to ensure... More

the Nant Ddu has consistently been a top culinary experience in what can only be described as a culinary wilderness since opening several decades ago. Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park yet only an hour or so from central Cardiff, it is a gem for all seasons catering for locals, business travellers, hikers and tourists. Food is pricey by... More

I've been visiting the Nant Ddu to eat for over 20 years, the hotel and owners have changed over the years but the food has always been excellent, last visited on Thursday and the food was again excellent and staff friendly. I'd strongly recommend the chicken liver parfait as a starter, I literally have this every time I visit, it's... More

Visited here whilst staying locally for the Jazz Festival in Brecon. It was very busy but managed to get a table straight away. There was a good choice on the menu but main courses were rather pricey for what you got. The slow roasted lamb was delicious but it only came on a bed of sweet potato (the menu stated... More

Nice meal but rather pricey £13.50 , small dish. Of veg between two if. You have a big appetite you will be disappointed . We were given a table I the small bar which was full so you are in very close proximity to other people which wasn't very comfortable. I believe the bistro was quite empty it would have... More

I've been to the Nant Ddu a number of times now, for bars meals and for group celebrations in the restaurant. The food is always good with large portions and reasonably priced for a good meal. Normally the wait for food isn't long (unlike some places where you may wait 45/1 hr). The staff are always friendly and helpful.
