Very nice sunday lunch!

Stopped here at the weekend for a Sunday lunch. Have been a few times before to the restaurant side (which is great) but never on a Sunday. Ate in the bar area and I have to say it could do with a really good facelift! Not very attractive at all considering people dress up to go there thinking... read more

A Friday lunch with family was the plan and in anticipation of this being a popular place to eat I attempted to book a table. There being a no reservation policy we took the gamble and arrived early at 12:15 , only to find the Bistro closed at lunch times and an already crowded drab, pub like bar. There was... More

Despite a positive reputation from friends and family, I visited in a group of 5 for lunch and was pretty disappointed. Nant Ddu promises more from the outside than we experienced inside. The bar area which serves as an informal dining area reminds me of a slightly better 70s works canteen. The Bistro was closed to diners but we were... More

I telephoned the Nant Ddu the day before a bank holiday to reserve a table but was told this was not possible and to just turn up. I explained that we were a party of 10 but I was assured by the person on the phone that this would not be a problem as there would be room in the... More

Visited on 23 5 15. It its so popular you have to get a table by 5.30 or you won't get in! My wife, son and daughter in law attended. The girls had the battered squid to start, whilst my son and I had the cockles, with laverbread on toast. Excellent! My wife then had a sirloin steak, we then... More

We haven't stayed at this establishment however we were there for a lunch recently. I don't know what all the fuss is about regarding top class food. From what I can see there isn't any being served here. Part of my meal was over cooked, unappetising and dry. The eggs were not cooked and were all slimy on the top... More

I've travelled...ALOT, and it's always a pleasure to find something unexpected. I stayed the night over the road at Coed Owen Bunkhouse and decided to eat at the lodge, not that the choices were available to choose otherwise...this is the surprising bit. For a lodge with little competition in its particular location, it performs as if they were in a... More

I went here on Easter Sunday with two friends, and we ordered the Sunday lunch, the lamb that I ordered was quite tough, and the pork my friends had was really nice. The problem was that we were only give one potion of veg for one person not three, so we called the waiter and asked if we could have... More
